Days were passing by easily for Phana.
He didn't have much of work load yet.
Every now and then, either Forth-Beam or his parents would call him up, just to make sure he was doing fine.
Make sure that he didn't feel lonely in any way.

He was doing really fine here.

Especially with that over enthusiastic "monkey" that could jump out of nowhere, anytime.

He hated that kid. But that kid had real great potential for what he does.

He exactly knew his aim.

Phana sometimes felt fortunate for not letting him go.

"Good morning sunshine.. er.. I mean.. sir.."
Ming's words broke his chain of thoughts.

And he cussed himself for feeling good about this bad- mannered monkey.

"Who the hell do you think, you're calling, sunshine?? Haven't I already told you to act like a civil person when you're at this work place? Why the hell do you act like this, huh, Mr. Mingkwan Baramee?"
Phana uttered with greeted teeth.

"Umm.. sso... Sorry sir." Ming stammered.
He felt bad for getting scolded by Phana, first thing, after coming to his office.

"You may leave now"
Phana coldly dismissed him.

"Why am I so pissed off at this guy?" Phana was contemplating about his attitude towards this intern.

"He's just a kid. Probably living alone here, in this big busy city. May be that's why he acts casually around me. He feels like home around me..?"
" I think I should apologize to him for this morning. I shouldn't have shouted at him that loudly"
" I mean, he didn't do any harm, just wished me a good morning..."
" But that sunshine part?? Nobody would greet their boss, calling him sunshine, right?

Aarrrgghh!! I think I've gone crazy! Why am I even thinking of that stupid monkey??!!!"
He groaned internally while raking his own hair, angrily.

***

Ming came back to his desk, slightly pouting because of the heavy scolding he got from Phana.

He didn't mean to say sunshine, it just came out of his mouth.

Phana's face reminded him of sunshine when he first appeared to his office today.

He started to work on his paperwork, on his computer, when his landline ringed.

"Hello?"

"Ming come to my office."
Phana's voice sent shivers down to his spine.

"Wow! I'm surely getting fired today. Well done, Ming"
He almost felt like crying.

***

"Ming, actually our department here, has held a party to welcome me here. Would you like to join us?"

Ming's jaw dropped down to the floor, out of shock.
He looked at Phana ,wide eyed.
He was mentally prepared for getting fired and here he was actually getting an invitation to a party that was supposed to be held for the officials only, definitely not for some intern.

Phana couldn't help but chuckle at the stupefied expressions of Ming.

The sound of that heartily laugh broke Ming's dazed and confused state of mind.

He composed himself, but the 'laughing' Phana, made his heartbeats go faster.

He never thought this handsome but grumpy man can actually laugh, most importantly he looked way more handsome while laughing.
