Chapter : 13

Phana took Ming to a nice restaurant for dinner. Ming wanted to have some traditional Thai dish for dinner.

The drive to the restaurant was awkward for both of them. Ming had nothing to talk about where as Phana was fidgeting at the driver's seat. So at the end it was a silent drive.

" what do you want to eat?" Phana asked , passing the menu to Ming.

"lemme see.." Ming said flapping the pages of the menu. "these ones" he pointed at some names of the dishes from the menu.

Phana placed his order and when their food came, they ate happily.

But both of them had their own ways of conversation with themselves in their own mind.

"are you alright?" Phana asked after observing Ming intently for a while.

He knew there must be something bothering the guy in front of him.

He knew Ming could never be that silent....

"yes, I am fine." Ming voiced without looking at Phana..

Phana heaved a sigh.. before asking, " do you wanna go somewhere after this?"

Ming finally looked into Phana's eyes, for the very first time ,that evening....

"why have you taken me to this dinner? Are you pitying me now?" Ming voiced his turmoil.

Phana's eyes grew wide at those words.. he shook his head quickly.. of course, he never had pitied Ming. And the thought of Ming taking the idea of dinner out as a way of showcasing pity, made him really sad.

Ming didn't ask anything more.. he again resumed his eating.. but Phana wasn't feeling like eating anymore..

"Ming are you angry with me?" he asked gently.

To which Ming didn't bother to answer. He kept on eating. He wasn't angry but hurt. He knew Phana was doing all these to make him happy.. he knew it was all out of pity.. and he hated the idea of Phana pitying him as he rejected Ming..

"please, Phana.. I don't wanna talk about anything. Let's eat first and go back to the house.. I need to pack..." He said..

Phana was confused with the packing comment.

"why do you need to pack?" he asked..

"well I'm going back to New York tomorrow morning.." Ming looked dead into Phana's eyes.

"why didn't you tell me this before?" Phana felt like something heavy has been placed on his heart.

He felt uncomfortable.

" when did you plan on leaving?" he again asked...

" I came unannounced... so I thought it would be better if I leave unannounced as well...

And I had never planned to stay here for a long time either,anyway.." Ming shrugged casually.

Phana was speechless.. he knew he had felt nothing romantic towards this kid and that's why he was very conscious with his behaviour .. he never wanted to give any false hope to Ming.

But he couldn't comprehend on why his heart sank with the news of Ming leaving...

He lost his appetite. He planned this dinner to cheer Ming up... but instead he was knocked sideways.

But he wouldn't dare to stop Ming..

"when is your flight tomorrow?" he asked in a much softer tone to mask his sadness..

" 8:30 in the morning.." Ming didn't say much. He kept on eating his food.

After dinner they were on the way back to Phana's place.. it was again a silent drive..

"uhm.. Phana.. I'm really not angry with you.. I just want to go back to New York because I need to complete my internship and I have to study for the upcoming exams as well.." Ming knew Phana was sad with his news of going back to New York..

He felt sad too.. but he wanted to go back.. He wanted to Leave Thailand, to prepare himself.. he wanted to get ready for his mission.. his newest mission was to make himself ready for Phana.

He knew Phana thought of him as a kid. He always felt the urge of correcting him but now he realized he only could do that by becoming more compatible to him.

He would complete his studies first and get a job then only he would confess his love to Phana..

Yes... he understood the feelings he had for Phana was not a mere liking.. but Love..

He loved that man and he would do anything to get him back in his life..

And that's why he felt this determined to go back and work up to his plan...

He wouldn't give up on his love so easily...
