Chapter 21:Fontaine's turn

"Ant's where?" Will asked turning from the controls, his heart skipped beat.

Ant tended to get himself in these types of situations and sometimes barely made it out.

"I don't know, but Madeline said he rushed off after Alpheus" Kaiko replied coming closer to the controls, worry clearly displayed in her face as she tried her comm.

"Ant?" She tried over her comm, however she knew there would be no signal.

"We could try tracking his comm?" Odette suggested as Madeline and Nereus walked into the room.

"Hello Ant" Alpheus greeted the boy as he slowly walked into the room.

Ant glanced over at Proteus who was still holding the empheychron in his hands.

"Alpheus that boy is a threat to us finding Lemuria, get rid of him immediately" Proteus scowled tightening his grip on the device.

"How many times Proteus, Ant could be useful to us" Alpheus said ignoring Proteus's warning.

"We already know the way, Alpheus" Proteus scowled again walking up to Alpheus's chair.

"Correction, I do" Alpheus corrected standing up.

"Finn, let me go, somethings wrong"Fontaine protested as she sat up.

"Your breathing still hasn't steadied," Finn responded folding his arms.

"Finn I'm fine" Fontaine tried again.

"You are really stubborn, you know that" Finn said shaking his head at her stubbornness.

Fontaine scoffed, "plus what am I meant to do here anyway. Just sit here doing nothing?"

"I mean you could teach me the guitar" Finn asked a smile forming on his face

"If I get that bored I maybe might teach you pirate boy,," Fontaine said trying to hold in her smile.

A smile spread across Finn's face, Fontaine noticed as she turned back towards his.

"But don't get your hopes up too early"

"Do you have Alpheus's location?" Nereus asked anxiously waiting upon their answer.

"No.."Odette replied as the signal of his comm was too weak.

"Have you tried the Knight's location?" Madeline asked turning to Kaiko.

A smile appeared in her face as she turned back to the controls, tapping on the screen as she tried locating the tracker. A small hum caught her attention as she turned to the monitor beside her.

"Location found" Kaiko responded a smile across her face.

"We won't be able to go anywhere, our props are still damaged, we will still be able to move though without our ballast." Will replied turning to face them.

"And the swamp knight and white is the only vehicles that are not too badly damaged." Odette added onto Will's comment.

"Ok, Will let's go" Kaiko said gesturing for the door.

Odette looked closely at Nereus who no longer was holding his cane. Was he intentionally trying to make it glow?

"Ok fine, there is nothing to do" Fontaine finally burst, hating to just sit still and do nothing.

"Does that mean you'll teach me?" Finn asked a smirk creeping up his face.

"Ok fine, my guitar is in my room you are getting it though" Fontaine said giving up.

She watched as Finn left the room, glancing around the room seeing if there was anything else to do, nothing at all.

A sudden glow caught her attention, it was Nereus cane again except it wasn't the normal colour, a yellow glow for when the Guardians contacted one another. Fontaine slowly got up and warily walked towards it. The colour was a green colour, coming from the glass globe at the top. She reached out to tap it as she did..

"Fontaine?" Finn asked causing Fontaine to pull her hand away.

She turned to Finn ,grimacing as she saw him holding the guitar the wrong way before turning back to the cane which now had stopped glowing.

"Are you okay?" Finn asked worriedly keeping the guitars aside.

"Yeah I'm fine," Fontaine replied as she went back and sat on the stretcher.

"You sure?" Finn asked again glancing over to the cane and back to Fontaine.

"I'm sure" Fontaine replied stubbornly again making Finn chuckle.
