"Dammit, Larissa. If you don't stop screaming and just listen to me I'm going to just do it." How can she be so short tempered these days. How can she be this unreasonable?

"No. I said no and I mean no." She stomped her foot, literally stomped her foot like she was two years old and I couldn't help but smirk at her. I knew better than to laugh.

"Do you honestly believe that we if we let her go she won't get hurt? Eric, she's only a child mentally, not a seventeen year old girl. Yes she is smart and yes she is responsible but we've never let her go anywhere by herself for any extended period of time. How can we just let her go. We don't know any of these people." She stood up and started pacing around the room. She placed her hand on her stomach, that now had a larger baby bump. She was glowing, but her attitude this time around was something I could live without. She was so off balance and moody. She would fight with me and Jaya about everything. Alem is lucky he's gone because she's probably make him cry.

Taking a deep breath, I answered her carefully. "Love, when we enrolled her in school we knew she was going to have field trips and do all kinds of things that normal kids do. She can be in school because she doesn't age as fast as Alem. This is important to her and we need to be supportive before we hold her too tight and lose her all together." Larissa stopped pacing and turned away from me. Her emotions were all over the place, making me on edge as well.

"Sweetheart, we knew this day would come. She has to grow up." I put my arms around her and she pushes me away, hard.

"Don't touch me," She snaps and my mouth falls open in shock at her.

"Excuse me?" I take a step towards her and she shrinks back from me like I beat her. It caused me to move back a few steps and then her whole demeanor changes,

"Eric, I don't know what happened. It was like I couldn't control myself." She holds her hands up so they are in front of her and she's looking at them shake. Again, I move towards her, slowly this time and hold her against me. She allows me to comfort her and she quickly wraps her arms around me.

"Are you okay?" I squeeze her slightly and press my nose in her hair, calming myself down. I quickly scan her mind, trying to understand where her mood swings are coming from but nothing stands out to me. I know something is off though.

"Eric, stop prying around in my mind." Her words caught me off guard and my eyebrow rose in shock. She elbowed me in the gut and she laughed at me.

"You should have seen your face. I got you so good." She bent over, holding her stomach in laughter and I couldn't help but laugh at her in return.

"Yeah, yeah, fine. You got me good." I smiled and rolled my eyes at her. She was so different when she was pregnant. Her moods were so up and down that it frightened me, but on the other side she was so happy and carefree at times. My wife was a conundrum, that's for sure.

"Eric, do you think that Alem and Lucy will find happiness like ours? Do you think taking this trip will give them the time to bond like you and I did?"

"I think they have things a lot easier than you and I did. They don't have people trying to kill them or kidnap Lucy. They will be just fine."

I looked at Alem as he slept. It was amazing to me how much he could sleep. Even as a human, I never slept much. It was almost like I was born to be a vampire.

"I can feel you watching me," Alem said to me, half knocking me off the bed in shock.

"You weren't supposed to notice me watching you." I placed my face in my hands and threw my head back against my pillow. His big, strong hands suddenly wrapped around my waist and pulled me towards him. I loved the zing I felt when he touched me and more than that, I loved loving him. Simply being around my other half had changed my world completely.
