"Alem, you realize things can't continue like this right? We can't keep doing things this way." Lucy's words woke me from a dead sleep. He fingers ran down my bare chest and I opened my eyes to look at my beautiful other half.

"You think I'm beautiful?"

"I'm enjoying having a stronger mental connection to you. I don't have to actually speak my words to complement you anymore." That one earned me a smack on my chest and we both laughed as I sat up. I could feel my parents starting to come around, meaning we couldn't just hang out, naked on the couch like Lucy has said a moment ago.

"I love you, Alem. I always have." I looked up at Lucy's blue eyes and knew that I'd never be able to love anyone else like I loved her. I pulled her to me and kissed her again. I kissed her like there wasn't a huge mission in front of us. I kissed her like I wasn't going to possibly lose her. I kissed her, hoping that she'd always remember this kiss, this moment.

I felt her smile against my lips and she grabbed the front of my shirt, pulling herself closer to me. I grabbed the sides of her face, holding her closer to me as she moved to straddle my waist.

"I love you, Lucy," I said as I broke our kiss. Her face was perfectly calm as I placed my hands on her hips to give her another set of memories before we wouldn't have time to again.

She quickly pressed her lips to mine and I felt my connection to Lucy grow as we made love on the couch. I hated that I couldn't do this properly but every time she and I bonded our connection grew stronger in one way or another. Our mental connection was just as strong, maybe even stronger than the connection I had with my parents. I could feel her emotions as if they were my own. The biggest difference I'd noticed was the magic. Bonding had made Lucy's magic stronger and she drew some her energy from me now.

We were going to need all the added help we could get in our search for Jaya.

"Alem, I didn't know you were still..." My mother's voice stopped Lucy and I dead in our tracks. Lucy gasped and peaked over my head at my mother.

"Morning," Lucy said in an embarrassed voice.

"Morning, I'll just uh." Then my mother left the room the way she came. I felt her instantly close her connection to me and a few seconds later so did my father.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention to them." Lucy's face was against my chest. I didn't know what else to say.

"It's fine. That was just so embarrassing." She looked up at me and I smiled. I kissed her again before she moved off my lap. We grabbed our clothes and I excused myself to apologize to my parents.

"Good luck," Lucy said as I walked past her. She smacked me on the ass and giggled. I turned to look at her and shook my head as I smiled.

"If I don't make it out alive, run while you can." That made her burst with laughter and I couldn't help but love the way her laugh filled me up inside.

I knocked on my parents door and a few seconds later my dad told me to come in. My mom was sitting on the bed with her back to me and my father was standing in front of her, looking at me as I walked in.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention and I shouldn't have done it here."

"A warning would have been nice but there's really nothing you need to apologize for. She's your mate." My mothers words shocked me and a second later she was standing in front of me.

"You're back?" I asked her with shock in my voice.

"It would seem you aren't the only one who gained a few things last night. Your father and I had to re-bond as well and." She stopped there and looked over her shoulder at my father. They were looking at each other with a love I only hoped Lucy and I would have one day.
