I wake up at the crack of dawn, I've had the most restless nights sleep ever. Constantly worrying about Grace, is she scared? Does she know where my room is if she needs me? I look at the clock on the wall and it's just turned five in the morning. I slowly get out and try my door but it's locked. Harry must of locked it before he went to bed.

I hate she's on the other side of the hallway and yet she's so far out of reach. I get back into bed and lay there watching the seconds tick by until its a reasonable time to start thumping on my door.
---
We have breakfast at eight, I don't take my eyes off Grace the whole time. She's sitting next to Harry and Louis and I can tell she's trying her hardest to be brave but I know deep down she's breaking.

"Did you sleep well?" I ask as I sip on a cup of tea. Harry knows he needs to treat me like a human and not an animal around Grace. This is the first cup of tea I've had since being here.

Harry looks at me, like he does everytime I ask Grace something, I glare back at him which angers him more.

"It was OK. I woke up once but I went back to sleep" she smiles.

"That's good. What would you like to do today?" I place my tea down.

"I haven't decided that yet Lauren! Why don't you go and treat yourself to a bath" He butts in.

"Thank you but I'm OK" I sweetly smile.

"I didn't ask if you were OK" he narrows his eyes.

"I know you didn't" I smugly smile at him knowing Grace is my protection, I don't even worry about the fact she'll eventually go to bed and it's then I'll pay for my back chatting.

"Hmm, I see" Harry raises an eyebrow.

We finish breakfast and I help Grace get dressed, not without Harry pottering around the room so we aren't alone. I desperately just want us to have a safe moment together so we can talk. I need to make sure she is definitely mentally OK, a little sneeky chat like last night isn't enough. I make sure I smile and make as much silent contact as possible.

"Shall we do some baking today?" Harry turns around when she's all dressed.

"Why am I not going to school?" Grace tilts her head to the side, "It's Wednesday so that means I should be at school. Doesn't it mummy?" she looks at me.

I look at Harry who is waiting for me to answer this question, "Well.. It's the school holiday at the moment so everyone has some time off school. It gives all the children a little break from learning because it's so tiring to learn new things all the time" I ramble which seems to satisfy Grace.

"Oh. OK. I guess we can bake some unicorn biscuits?" she looks at Harry.

"Unicorn biscuits?" he frowns.

"Yes. At home we have some biscuit cutters and they are shaped like unicorns. We then decorate them with sprinkles and icing" she looks at me and smiles.

"That's right" I nod. I look at Harry, "That sounds like a great idea. Do you need to go to the shop?" I ask.

"I don't, Louis and Liam do by the sounds of it" he walks out the room and ushers us to join him. I was hoping in the moment he would forget and just nip out himself but obviously that's too easy.

"Boys you need to go shopping" He walks into the kitchen.

"For what?" Louis looks up from the table.

"Grace needs things to make Unicorn biscuits" Harry nudges Liam to get up.

"What's it they need to get?" Harry questions.
