"Uh uh, you're sitting with me today." Matt said happily.

I looked at him and shook my head. He walked me over to where he was sitting with his friends. I was so nervous to be honest. I'm not like a total nerd, but I'm not the most popular girl ever and now I was sitting at the table with the hottest boys in school. They just looked at me and smiled and went back to talking and playing on their phones. Finally Matt broke the awkward silence.

"Hey, if you guys don't know, this is Starr, she's like THE smartest girl in school, and I would suggest her if you need a tutor." He said with the biggest grin on his face

All the guys were looking up at me now, which made me feel uncomfortable.

"Well, I'm Gilinksy and you will probably be seeing a lot of me Miss Tutor. " We all laughed including him.

They all introduced themselves, and I wondered why everyone was scared of them, they were actually really nice.

I hit it off with all of them pretty well. In just that 25 minute lunch break I felt weirdly comfortable around them, and that doesn't seem like me, I'm the shyest person ever. I was actually pretty proud of myself. The day went on and I was surprisingly happy the whole day. Now I didn't have to worry about feeling embarrassed walking into classes I shared with the boys. At this point I could just talk to them and not stutter so much.

When I got home, I had nothing but a smile on my face. Obviously my mom could tell something was up.

" What are you so happy about missy?" my mom asked

"I made some new friends." I said, not trying to sound too excited.

"Uh huh, well that's good honey, I'm glad!" She smiled

I knew my mom would be happy. She always thought I had social problems when I was in 5th and 6th grade, because I never had many friends. I admit, I didn't, but it's just I was picky and chose carefully who I hung out with. Once I got into high school, I loosened up quite a bit, and pretty much became friends with anyone. Even though I'm in my 2nd year of high school, she still gets all giddy when I make new friends.

I ran upstairs and flew onto my bed. I must have passed out; all I remember is waking up at midnight and not being able to go to back to sleep. I decided to take a hot bath hoping it would relax me and help me sleep. I got out and threw on some Pj's. And I guess that bath helped, I lay down and was out cold in 10 minutes.
