I traced the floral print on my bed, as I laid there dreading tomorrow. It was exam day. I studied for at least 3 hours and I felt like my brain was going to explode with knowledge. Thank goodness it was almost summer, and all this bullshit homework, tests and exams would be over. I looked at my alarm clock and groaned once I realized it was already 9:30.
I got up and lugged myself to the bathroom. I turned the shower on and jumped in. I relaxed as the hot steam hit my back. I sat down in the bottom of the tub and practically fell asleep. I knew it had to be getting late, so I quickly washed up. I stepped out of the tub and dried off as best as I could. I just braided my hair so I didn't have to mess with it in the morning, plus I can sleep in a little longer.
I opened up the door, trying to clear out the steam as I brushed my teeth. I shut the faucet off, then the light and ran back upstairs. I hopped straight into bed and I was out like a light.
I heard the birds chirping, as the bright sun shined in through my mint green curtains. I knew it was time to get up and I knew I couldn't be late today. I threw my legs over the side of my bed. I slid my slippers onto my feet and raced down the stairs, trying to get to the bathroom before anyone else could.
"Yes" I quietly said to myself once I realized I was the first one awake. I locked the door behind me and did my business.
Once I was done I ran back upstairs, bumping into my brother on the way. I heard him grunt a little, but I continued on to my room. I quickly put on some foundation and mascara. I turned the light onto my closet and closely looked for an outfit. I ended up with a pair of Jeans, a blue flowy crop top and a white cardigan.
I unbraided my hair and added a little hairspray. I took one last look in the mirror and smiled. I felt good today. I checked my clock and realized I still had a half hour before we left. I walked downstairs, where my dad met me at the bottom with my phone in his hand.
" Here." He handed it to me
" Thank you daddy." I said happily, only because I can call Matt now.
" Uh huh... brat." My dad laughed
