Will I ever find a home?

It was a summer morning around six o'clock, when I was woken up with a start and faint crying at the other side of my room and a hell lot of shouting. I opened my eyes and rummaged around my bedside table trying to find my glasses. I rummaged around the mountains clatter on my bedside table. When I found them I brought them up to my eyes and adjusted them on my face with my fiery red glasses shining in the light. When i managed to see clearly i looked along to the bunk bed across the room from me to see the little girl i share a room with crying on her bed with her head in her hands. "Teegan what's wrong" ? what happened "? i asked the young girl softly trying not to scare the six year old. " sapphire was shouting again " the young girl sobbed as i sat down next to her. I pulled her onto my lap hugging her tightly. " You're safe, I'm here and it's all going to be ok." I whispered in her ear, softly comforting her. "Hope teegan breakfast is almost ready can you please start heading down stairs". A soft voice asked us from the other side of the door. It was our head care worker Carmen, she is one of the loveliest people you will ever meet. She always puts the children in her care first. She has the most beautiful hazel eyes and the prettiest chocolate brown hare. I couldn't ask for a more kind or caring parent figure in my life. Carmon was the first ever person that was able to make me feel safe and loved after my mum died and before my beast friends came to the sunset riverside care home. Her most amazing feature is her personality and most of all her smile that could make all of your pain go away just by smiling at you.

Me and tegan got dressed and ready to head down for breakfast, as we left I turned round taking one last look around the room, my eyes freezing at the two bunks above mine with a name written on the chalkboards at the end of the bunks. " Christena and Erica". I said the two names over and over in my head trying not to cry. Christena and Erica were my best friends but they sadly left sunset riverside a few weeks before and I missed them more than anything. Mike the other care worker keeps offering me a single bed but i keep turning it down not wanting to let the last bit of hope that my two best friends, my sisters will run through the door shouting that they're home and that they will never leave me again that we'll stay together forever. And then I was brought out of my daze as teagan tugged hard on the bottom of my top. We walked down stairs slowly and towards the kitchen and dining room.

When we got into the dining aria everyone was already sitting down. I sat in one of the last two spare seats to my left was my boy best friend Logan and to my right was teegan."are you looking forward to tomorrow hope "Logan asked me, his ocean blue eyes sparkling in the light as he smiled softly at me. " why would i be excited for tomorrow it's just another day". I replied as if he had gone mad. I poured myself and teegan some fresh orange and some cereal while the others looked at me as if I was insane. "Go back to your breakfast and please stop looking at me like i am insane, tomorrow will just be like every other day, sapphire will be pranked by the boys they will have a streaming match and the little ones will get stressed out like they always do, unless a miracle happens and the three of you learn to grow up". I said looking at the three teens at the end of the table. Really no one knows or understands what is happening tomorrow. Everything went into an awkward silence until the office phone rang. "I had better go and grab that" Carmen said as she rushed from the room, her hair flowing behind her. We all went back to eating silently. When we had all finished eating , Logan began collecting the dishes so that sapphire could wash them and Monica and Matthew could dry and Tyler and Jody could put away "hope". A voice called from down the hall which was probably Carmen, "Hope sweetey can you please come here". She called. "coming" I called as I sat the last dish down next to the sink and I scurried out of the room towards the office. Trying to put my mind to rest, as everything was giving me a headache.

When I reached the door of the office I softly knocked on the door waiting for Carmen's reply before entering. " come on in hope". She said sweetly. " you shouted at me". I replied as I entered the office. " yes i did and i need you to make up the 5 spear beads in your room please". She told me worry visible in her voice. She was most likely afraid of my reaction. " what why you know who those two beds above mine belong to can't they go somewhere else". I shouted at her, my emotions getting the better of me. " believe me, I hope you will love the people moving in, I would never lie to you". She told me trying to reassure me and calm me down. " ok can i go now". I told her rudely my anger and pain evident in my voice. "yes you may go hope" .she told me softly as i began to leave. "Oh, and hope don't rub off the chalk off of the chalk boards' '. She told me, smiling as I left the room. I looked at her strangely, then as I closed the door I realised what she meant and I nearly cried of happiness and sadness at the same time. I then headed off to the kitchen to find Login with joy in my heart.

The minute I got into the kitchen I flung my arms around Logan's neck squealing like a banshee as I hugged him tightly. "what the world has gotten into you". He giggled as he hugged me back. " its Christena and Erica". I told him he was happy. "What do you mean hope?'' He asked me curiously but also happily. " there coming back, there finally coming home". I told him, almost crying tears of joy. We hugged tightly then ran off to the bedding cupboard. We picked up 5 sets of girly bedding, and one set of black bedding that once belonged to Erica. It has a star pattern all over it. We ran off towards me and tegan's bedroom. When we got into me and tegan's room Logan stopped and placed the bedding on to one of the beds before turning me around so that I was looking at him. My gaze immediately went to his ocean eyes that were so deep so beautiful that you could swim in them. But what i didn't realise was that he was staring into my sapphire ones. " Has anyone ever told you that you have the most beautiful eyes". He asked me not to take his gaze off of my eyes. "No they have at least not heard that ''. I told him to look down to hide my blush. " well they really are the most stunning things i have ever seen they are just like real sapphires". Logan told me while lifting my chin so that he could look into my eyes again tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. He pulled me into a tight hug when he noticed that I was starting to cry. "It's ok, I hope you're safe now". Logan told me, pulling out of the hug, taking hold of one of my hands, going his free hand to wipe away my tears. He kissed me lightly on the cheek and took my other hand and we both learned it until we heard the door open and we jumped apart. " hello teagan do you fancy giving us a hand with the pillow cases". Logan asked teegan softly as she walked in. " Of course i wouldn't mind , wait are the girls finally coming home?'' Teegan asked softly. "Yes". Logan replied, smiling. I wished nothing more than for him to kiss me. Yes i have a crush on my best friend no need to judge. I have loved him for years, we met when we were little and have been close ever since. I wish we could be together but it is against the rules so we would be split up, and we might never see each other again. I tried to push the wishes and thoughts of my future and what I wish I had to the back of my head as I looked down at my wrist at the number 15 that was tattooed on my wrist and the scars that were surrounding it.
