Ailith coughed and opened her eyes, upon seeing her to sister-like friend whom she's known her whole life, she smiled and shut her eyes, she was so weak, and when she tried to make her usually sarcastic comment, it came out like she was dying which she was but bar the point. She ended up going on a coughing spree.
"Shh! Shh!" Astra comforts as she lifts the back of Ailith's head up to allow her to rest comfortable.
"I've got the scourge." Was all the brunette managed to choke out.
"We noticed." Austa commented as she walks back with Asgard behind her.
"Did you get them?" Astra instantly asked.
"I got all but that last one, soul purposely because I can't pronounce it, what is your hand writing?" The blonde exclaimed.
"A piece of..." Ailith chokes.
"Oh my Thor! You're awake!" Austa fell to her knees next to Ailith and stares down into her silver eyes, that looked so lifeless get filled with life, it wasn't even funny!
"I saw an angel!" Ailith says as she stares up at the stars.
"She's said that twice now, she uttered it while she was unconscious a while ago." Astra said as she crunched the herbs together. "And my handwriting said the saliva of a buffalord."
"What's a buffalord?" Ailith asks as she looks at Astra. "And why are you upside down?"
"The dragon? Didn't they go extinct when the Scourge was in its glory days?" Austa questions.
"It can't be, otherwise Ailith will die!" Astra said firmly as she kneeled down next to Ailith.
"I don't wanna die..." Ailith cried cluelessly of what was going on. She could barely think straight.
Suddenly then, the same roar that drew Ailith in towards the ship which contained the scourge echoed the island. And the same black and silver dragon Ailith saw previously landed firmly in front of the girls.
Austa jerked back and pulled Ailith back, while Astra stared, astonished, Asgard growled defensively and stood in front of the three girls protectively.
"No! No stop." Ailith tried to yell but she was too weak, she used the remains of her strength to grab Asgard's wing. "That's the angel..." And with that she passed out.
"Ailith?" Astra called as she helped Ailith to a comfortable position. "Ailith?!" She called again, shaking her shoulders, but no response was given.
"Oh Thor, Ailith!" Austa cried and scrambled back to the body of her friend.
The silver and black dragon went to step forward but Asgard growled. "Wait, maybe he helped?!" Astra thinks and looks at the dragon...and saw on on his front hand, or talon, was something. Austa stepped around Asgard and watched as the dragon left a damp leaf as he marched away, like he never existed, into the shadows.
Austa picked up the leaf and instantly yucks because it was drenched with something slimy, but her head perked upon realising. "Was the saliva green?" She asked while admiring the slime on her fingers.
"Yes..." Astra answered.
Instantly, the leaf was blended with the mixture of herbs and given to Ailith, it took effect instantly and she woke up as her usual self...then she received two punches from each of the girls. "Um..ow?" Ailith said as she held one shoulder then went to her other.
"That's for scaring us!" Austa stated firmly. Then Astra lunged and wrapped her arms around her friend.
"And this is for not leaving us." The redhead says as she starts to cry utter tears of joy, that, if that dragon didn't show up, likely would've been grief.
Austa joined in on the hug and the girls enjoyed life for a minute.
The yellow eyes that belonged to the silver and black dragon watched the girls embrace and Asgard wrap his tail around them. Then a flashback occurs.
He was starving, beneath the below deck of a hunter ship that hasn't moved in days, weeks if not. All the dragons in the cages above were set free to kill the hunters before the scourge did, but they seemed to have forgotten about him. He was too hostile and would've escaped the cell one way or another if put in one.
But then, he heard the girl, the girl who burned a hole for him to escape out of and instantly he blasted upwards towards the ceiling. He climbs out and then stares down at the girl, a human. His eyes narrowed, but then they soften in pity once he sees her collapse, seeing the scrape on her shoulder reminded him of the beginning of the scourge, a scratch.
He knew the antidote because he was beneath the deck when hunters were searching for the buffalord. He knew about the antidote.
To start his deed off, he took the girl out and set her softly on the pale sand, then put out the fires on the ship with water and pushed it out to sea, away from here. He then flew upwards, only to fly back down to the girl, he saw a dragon with two other girls take off and decided to take her where they were. He didn't want to be in the open however so placed her in the wood next to it and awaited there return.
Upon seeing them, he got their attention by firing plasma, not intended to nearly hit the redhead, by mistake, but he did it, then instantly ran off, waiting for them to be distracted before taking off to get to the buffalord. Where he merely needed to growl and then the buffalord spat the green saliva on the bushes. He plucked the leaf and flew back.
