Chapter 12: The Big News

"The flight from Miami, Florida to San Antonio, Texas will be landing in five minutes. Please buckle your seat belts and turn all devices off until we land, thank you." The flight attendant announces.
I start gathering my stuff. Soon enough the plane has landed. I grab all of my stuff that isn't in baggage claim and start to walk out of the plane. I walk into the airport to see a group of about twenty girls standing there. Some have signs that say "Welcome Home Sadie!!". They all scream when the see me.
"Awww! You guys are the sweetest!" I say.
"We love you Sadie!" They all say at the same time.
I smile.
I take pictures and sign autographs with everyone i can. I even get gifts from some of them.
"Thank you guys all for coming to welcome me home, it really means a lot. I love you guys." I say then wave to everyone and leave to baggage claim. I get there and gather my suitcases then just wait for my dad to get here.
After waiting for probably thirty minutes i see him. He sees me and smiles. I smile then drop all my things and run up to him and hug him tight.
"Ive missed you sweetie." He says.
"Ive missed you two dad." I say.
We pull away from the hug.
"What do you say we set your stuff down at the house then go bowling." He says.
"Im in! But can i change first?" I ask.
"Yeah. Lets go." He says.
He helps me get my bags to the car. We drive to the house and i get my stuff in my room then decide what i want to change into. I pick out a brown spaghetti strap romper with coral colored flowers on it and put a cream colored cardigan over it and some brown oxfords. For my hair i take a little bit from the front and do a waterfall braid. I do simple make up then I'm ready to go.
We get to Main Event and get a lane.
"Do you think you still got it?" My dad asks.
"Oh i know i still got it." I say.
"Alright bring it on." He says.
So we start our game of bowling. My dad goes up to bowl. When he swings he swings a little too hard and slips. I burst out into laughter.
"Are you okay?" I barley manage to get out in between laughs.
I literally cannot control my laughing right now.
"Okay okay! Calm down! It wasn't that funny!" He says.
I nod still laughing.
"Yes it was!!" I say.
Then he starts to laugh.
"Im gonna have a huge bruise tomorrow!" He says.
Im having the best time.
After about an hour and a half of bowling we go home. We get home and theres a woman watching tv on our coach. She's skinny and has long black hair and is really pale but she is gorgeous.
"Dad who's this?" I ask.
The woman comes up next to my dad.
"Sadie, this is the big news i was talking about. This is Heather, my fiancé." He says.
Well that just ruined my night.
"Oh. Oh that-thats great. Im really happy for you." I say trying to sound happy then i turn and run up the stairs.
"Sadie!" My dad calls after me.
I go to my room and shut the door a little harder than i intend.
I text Austin.
Me: Have time to Skype?
I lay there, waiting for him to text back. A few minutes later he does.
Austin: of course.
I get out my laptop. The Skype thing pops up telling me Austin wants to Skype. I press accept. Once i see his face i smile.
"Hi." I say.
"Hey Sade. How was your day?" He asks.
"Well i got to the airport and you were right, there were a lot of girls there welcoming me home. It was so sweet. Then i went bowling with my dad and that was super fun. Oh and the big news my dad was talking about yeah its that he is getting married." I say the last thing a little angrily.
"Whoa. Really?" He asks.
I nod.
"And im trying to be happy for him but i just- i don't know, theres something inside of me that just doesn't feel like this is right." I say.
"Wouldnt your mom want this for him?" He asks.
"Thats what everyone says but i wouldn't want that for my husband." I say.
Austin chuckles a bit.
"So you would want to be alone for the rest of your life?" He asks.
"My dad's not alone he has me." I say.
"He wont have you forever. He's already starting to lose you because your living with me and your still only seventeen." He says.
He's right. My dad is already starting to lose me and i still have a few years left before i go to college. I don't want him to be lonely, i want him to be happy. And since he is getting married to Heather then he must be happy. And as long as she's around he wont be lonely. I guess this is the best thing for him.
"Your right." I sigh.
"Sadie?" I hear my dad say knocking on the door.
"Come in." I say.
"Someone's here to see you." He says.
"Who?" I ask.
"Logan." He says.
My stomach twists at the mention of his name.
"Okay. You can...send him up here. I guess." I say.
"Okay." He say then leaves.
I look back at Austin.
"Don't panic Sade. Be calm. Keep me on Skype without Logan knowing so i can hear what is going on." Austin says.
I nod.
Logan comes in and i push my computer over a little bit and stand up.
"Hi Sadie." He says with a smile.
"Hi." I say.
"Ive missed you." He says.
"Logan..." I start.
"No. Let me say something first." He says.
I nod.
"Sadie i know your dating Austin but...I'm in love with you. I cant stop thinking about you no matter how hard i try. I want to be with you. I want it to be like it was before." He says stepping closer.
Before i can do anything he grabs me and kisses me. I push him away.
"Get off of me!" I say.
"Sadie." He says stepping closer again.
I step back.
"No Logan! I want you to stay away from me." I say.
"I want you to love me again." He says.
I look at him and shake my head.
"I never loved you." I say.
His eyes fill with furry. He grabs my arm tight.
"Oww!" I say.
"Then I'm gonna do what ever it takes to get you to love me." He says looking into my eyes.
"Let go of me." I say.
He lets go.
"Dont think i wont do whatever it takes, cause i will." He says.
"you know my dad's a cop." i say.
"Yeah. and if find out that he knows about what i just did i promise you will regret it." He says then leaves and shuts the door behind him.
"Sadie! Are you okay?" I hear Austin ask.
He sounds angry and worried. I go over to my laptop and look at him.
"You don't know how much it took from me to not say anything. Im sorry, i didn't think he would be like this." He says.
"I want to leave. I want to be back with you. Austin if this is how he's gonna be for two months then i cant do this." I say trying to hold back tears.
"I know. You don't know how badly i want you to be here and safe but if you tell your dad that you have to leave he's gonna ask why and you cant risk you or him getting hurt." Austin says.
I lay back on my bed.
"I wish you could come here. That way i could be with my dad and have you to protect me." I say.
I cant believe this is happening.
