In the lab, Tony carefully placed the stones in the gauntlet he made with nervous precision while Bruce, Jamie, and Rocket watched.
"Boom!" Rocket shouted.
Tony and Bruce jumped a bit, and quickly groan at Rocket's joke while Jamie laughed lightly.
"You can be so immature sometimes," Jamie giggled.
"I know. And I'm proud of it," Rocket smirked.
Finally the gauntlet was finished and everyone gathered for what was about to happen next.
"All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?" Rocket asked.
"I'll do it," Thor volunteered.
"Thor, no. You can't," Jamie told him.
"It's okay, sister," Thor assured.
Everyone tried to stop Thor from doing it.
"Wait, wait, wait, Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet," Steve tried to negotiate.
"I'm sorry. What, we're just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?" Thor asked.
"We should at least discuss it," Scott pointed out.
"No, no, sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty," Thor explained.
"It's not that..." Tony started.
"It's...stop it! Just let me!" Thor shouted, started tearing up, then sobbed, "Just let me do it. Just let me do something good. Something great."
"Look...It's not just the fact that that glove is channeling enough energy to light up a continent, I'm telling you, you're in no condition," Tony told him.
"Yeah, Thor. I know that what happened at the fight is making you want to bring everyone back, but it's only someone with gamma radiation already inside them who can. It's our best bet," Jamie explained.
"What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?" Thor asked.
"Cheese Whiz?" Rhodey guessed.
"Lightning," Thor answered.
"Yeah," Tony nodded with uncertainty.
"Lightning won't help you, pal. It's gotta be me," Bruce told him.
Thor let go of Tony after hearing that.
"You saw what those stones did to Thanos. It almost killed him. None of you could survive," Bruce pointed out.
"How do we know you will?" Y/N asked.
"We don't. But the radiation's mostly gamma. It's like...uh...I was made for this," Bruce said, looking at the gauntlet.
He then picked it up.
"Good to go, yeah?" Tony asked.
"Let's do it," Bruce answered.
"You remember...everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago plus one who died before it and just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years," Tony reminded.
"Got it," Bruce nodded.
Tony then went to Bruce.
"Let that one person be Loki. Jamie seems to have changed him and I'm pretty sure you've seen it too," Tony whispered.
Bruce nodded and Tony went back to his spot. Everyone suited up for what was coming.
"FRIDAY, do me a favor and activate Protocol 8," Tony requested.
"Yes, boss," FRIDAY answered.
The Avengers facility went on lockdown.
"Everybody and plus one come home," Bruce whispered.
He put it on, it nanobotically expanding to fit his hand, and the power surge started to overwhelm him, making him grunt in pain.
"Take it off. Take it off!" Thor yelled.
"No, wait. Bruce, are you okay?" Steve asked.
"Talk to me, Banner," Tony said.
"I'm okay. I'm okay," Bruce nodded.
Thor gave him two thumbs up. Bruce then screamed, trying to not think about the pain he was under. Then finally, he snapped his fingers and fainted. The gauntlet slid off his arm, making Clint kick it away
"Bruce!" Steve yelled.
"Don't move him," Tony said.
"Oh my god," Y/N exclaimed.
"Please be okay," Jamie prayed.
Bruce woke up, held onto Steve's arm, then asked, "Did it work?"
"Worth a shot. It's over. It's okay," Thor assured.
Scott went to the window to see plants and birds. Clint even heard his phone go off almost broke down in happy tears, seeing it was his wife calling.
"Honey. Honey," Clint called, answering the phone.
"Guys...I think it worked!" Scott exclaimed.
