Clint then came running out with the gauntlet.
"Cap, what do you want me to do with this damn thing?" Clint asked.
"Get those stones as far away as possible!" Steve answered.
"No! We need to get them back where they came from," Bruce remarked.
"If we do that, that still won't stop Thanos from looking for them," Jamie pointed out.
"Yeah, and besides, no way to get them back. Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel," Tony stated.
"Hold on!" Scott said then pointed out while pulling out a remote, "That wasn't our only time machine."
He pressed the button, which made Luis's van's horn go off from afar. Steve went to higher ground to find it.
"Anyone see an ugly, brown van up there?" Steve asked.
"Yes! But you're not gonna like where it's parked," Valkyrie answered.
"Scott, how long you need to get that thing working?" Tony wondered.
"Maybe ten minutes," Scott guessed.
"Get it started. We'll get the stones to you," Steve told them.
"And hurry," Y/N added.
"We're on it, guys," Hope responded.
Scott and Hope looked at each other then shrunk. They fly off for the van. Everyone continued fighting as Scott and Hope made it to the van. They had to hotwire it since the battery was dead. The fight for the gauntlet progressed until Thanos' troops started firing at something in the sky.
"What the hell is this?" Sam wondered.
"FRIDAY, what are they firing at?" Tony asked.
"Something just entered the upper atmosphere," FRIDAY answered.
Then a bright light of energy shone as Captain Marvel flew straight threw the ship, making it explode and crash into the lake.
"Oh, yeah!" Rocket shouted.
"Yes!" Jamie and Y/N cheered.
"Danvers, we need an assist here," Steve said.
Scott got the Quantum Tunnel running then,
Then Carol approached Spider-Man, who was hugging the gauntlet with his body.
"Hi. I'm Peter Parker," Peter introduced.
"Hey, Peter Parker. You got something for me?" Carol asked with a smirk.
Peter stood up, gave her the gauntlet, then pointed out, "I don't know how you're gonna get it through all that."
Wanda and Valkyrie, from on her Pegasus, came to them.
"Don't worry," Wanda assured.
"She's got help," Okoye said and most of the women joined them.
The fight continued as everyone tried to keep Thanos and his army away from the gauntlet. And to make things worse, Thanos destroyed the van and the Quantum Tunnel so the stones couldn't be returned. But then Thanos got the gauntlet on his hand, so everyone tried to prevent him from snapping. Then Tony charged at Thanos and seemed to pull off something from it before Thanos pushed him away.
"I am...inevitable," Thanos smirked then snapped his fingers.
But nothing happened. He then noticed that all the stones were gone then he looked at Tony. He had all six infinity stones in his own gauntlet and lightly grunted in pain as the gamma radiation coursed through him to Thanos' shock.
"And I...am...Iron Man," Tony remarked then snapped his fingers.
A blinding flash of white light surrounded them. When it settled, everyone saw Thanos' army dissipate into ash. Then Thanos kneeled down in failure before dissipating into ash as well. We had won.
But it came at a cost. Tony's entire right side was injured fatally as he laid against the debris. Rhodey flew up to him and looked at him, knowing he wasn't going to make it.
"Mr. Stark?" Peter called, went to him, and said as he teared up, "Hey...Mr. Stark? Can you hear me? It's Peter. Hey. We won, Mr. Stark...We won, Mr. Stark. We won. You did it, sir. You did it."
Tony doesn't respond, making Peter break down and hug him.
"I'm sorry...Tony..." Peter sobbed.
Pepper gently moved Peter to grieve and sat in front of the fading Iron Man.
"Hey," Pepper said.
Tony could barely move his head, but could look at Pepper enough to see her face.
"Hey, Pep..." Tony tried to say.
She gently placed her hand on his arc reactor and he placed his hand on hers. Pepper then saw how badly he was hurt and knew what was to come.
"FRIDAY?" Pepper asked.
"Life functions critical," FRIDAY answered.
Tony smiled sadly at her as tears formed in his eyes.
"Tony. Look at me," she told him, he obeyed, then told him with a sad smile, "We're gonna be okay. You can rest now."
At that, his arc reactor shut off. Pepper immediately started crying, resting her head on his shoulder. Tony Stark is dead.
