Alice's P.O.V

Water...

Earth...

Fire...

Air...

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, only he could stop the ruthless Firebenders. But, when the world needed him most.....he vanished.

100 years have passed, and the Fire Nation is nearing victory in the war.

2 years ago, my adoptive parents, plus others, journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me, my sister, and her boyfriend, to look after the tribe. We were the only kids old enough to fight, but some people, including us, had to be left behind to protect the village and the other kids.

Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and that the cycle is broken. I am one of those people, though Nya and Jay still have hope. They still believe that somehow, the Avatar will return to save the world.

I remember the stories of the Avatar from Misako, the storyteller of our little village. She also helps look after all the kids while the parents (mostly men, but some women went to) are off in the war, so all the kids look up to her. She's like a mom, but old enough to be a grandma.

Though, we all just call her Misako.

Jay, my sister, Nya, and I are out in one of the canoes, hunting for fish.

I had a spear in my hand, the other holding the canoe as I looked into the water, concentrating on the fish's movements, trying to anticipate where to stick my spear.

"Hey, I caught one!" Nya exclaimed in joy.

I glanced to where Nya was, to see her waving her hands around while a fish in a water bubble move as her hands did.

"Great!" I put on a smile for the other's sakes.

Nya put the fish in the bucket and watched for more fish in the water.

Jay...Jay was looking at himself in the water, making muscles to himself. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Hey, Jay. Do you want to help, or stare at yourself in the water?" I called him out on it.

Jay looked at me with a blank face.

"What about you? Too busy calling me out that you're not catching fish either," Jay retorted.

"Oh, I'll give you a fish!" I narrowed my eyes as I got ready to throw the weapon at him.

"Guys, stop it! Fighting won't do anything!" Nya got in between us and stopped us from going at each other's throats.

"Fine," I mumbled.

"But she started it!" Jay exclaimed, protesting that he was in trouble to.

"Why, I outta-!" I threw down the spear and tackled him in the small boat.

"Alice! Guys, come on!" Nya tried pulling me off of the male.

Jay was defending himself by putting his hands over his face, but that didn't exactly stop me from hitting his hands.
