Chapter 28: L̴i̴g̵h̸t̴s̸ ̵

"You two better stay on your best behaviors, we have a plan to stick to.."

Leonard stood in the main room, all geared up like everyone else was, except Mardon. He told them to wait, but for what?

"What's the big deal.. Got another painting to steal?" Mardon groaned as he walked in a little late, making his way over to Audrey as she stood near the bar.

"You'll soon find out-" Snart replied as he tinkered with his cold gun.

Mardon walked over to Audrey, wrapping an arm around her.

"Hey there sweetheart how you feelin?" He smirked. although Mardon was somewhat easy on her, Audrey raised a brow.. Suddenly he was nice?

"What do you want?" She asked only to earn a chuckle from Mardon.

"Hey I just wanna check in on you.. no tricks-"

Audrey remained hesitant to trust him, his odd new behavior had her overthinking, just earlier she was attempting to run away from him.

"I'm fine Mardon.." she replied after a while but he only smirked more "You sure? You know you could tell me-"

She glanced over at Snart as Mardon tried to get on her good side, to Audrey's surprise he was already watching. Sending a weird look to Mardon.

"Weather boy.. don't scare her off- we're about to leave.."

Mardon rolled his eyes as he let his arm fall from her side, stepping aside.

"So what's this big plan?" He asked with suspicion, snart always had some elaborate plan in his head, sometimes he was borderline obsessive with them.

"The plan is, we need materials.. not to mention food for our hide out- so I figured we do something on the low, teach the kid how things work around here" snart explained, knowing full well that was only half of his intentions tonight.

Audrey remained quiet, stealing supplies? Was that really Snart's big plan? She quickly began to feel some suspicion in his words.

"Oh! Let's grab more beer we're running low" Mick interjected, smirking as he finished the beer he was currently drinking.

Snart rolled his eyes as he grabbed his gear, waving his arm for everyone to follow him out. Audrey hesitated to follow, but after a gentle nudge from Mardon, she joined them.

Gripping her new weapon in hand, she kept her guard high.

"So where are we getting these supplies?" Audrey muttered as she climbed into Mardon's car.

He glanced at her as he turned the car on, he'd be lying if he said he knew. Mardon wasn't really in on this plan much.

"No clue.. buckle up sweetheart, don't need you going through my windshield if I crash" he tried to distract Audrey from the questioning but she remained suspicious.

"Ok" she muttered, putting on the seatbelt as he drove off. It was a short drive through the city. Snart and mick split up from them once more, careful to not draw attention.

After a few moments Audrey found herself staring out the window, the nightlife of the city was almost surreal. The streetlights and businesses made it feel like a movie.

Mardon glanced at her as he continued to drive through the city, he smiled to himself, maybe cursing himself for softening up to her.

She seemed to not have much of a life before he snatched her. Always hiding, scared to be who she was.

Mardon knew he was going to change that.

"How about after this, I take you out on the town.. show you a few cool things in central city?"

Audrey turned her attention back to Mardon, he could see excitement in her eyes as he spoke.

"Really?" She said quickly "you'd do that? What about flash.."

"Don't worry I can handle that speedster-" Mardon smirked. Like he could stop a god like him.

Audrey smiled more than she cared to admit, giving him a nod. For the first time she looked so happy.

"Maybe tonight I'll teach you a few tricks with your powers, and-"

Just as he spoke a flash of lightning went by, not even a second passed before another and another, circling the car.

Mardon slammed on the breaks as the lighting trail grew closer, closing in on them. It was him..

"Dammit!" Mardon groaned, causing Audrey to panic.

"M-mardon.." she muttered "he's gonna put us in that meta jail-"

He glanced back at her, seeing the panic on her face. He only grew more annoyed with the flash. Always ruining everything.

"Stay in the car.." Mardon snapped as he got out, leaving Audrey no room to argue before he slammed the door shut.

She watched as he stepped out, walking to the front of the car, he went into a defensive position, readying his hands to create a hail storm at any moment.

"Go away speedy!" He yelled "before things get chilly!"

Not a moment after, the flash stopped infront of him, maybe ten feet away. He glared at Mardon, his attention veered to see Audrey in the passenger side of the car.

"Let her go Mardon! Give up and maybe ccpd will go easy on you-" Barry tried to bargain with him, maybe he could say something to work a trade. But he quickly realized it wouldn't work.

"She's fine with us flash.. besides- she knows everything now.." Mardon smirked as he created hail the size of a softball in his hands.

"when we're done she won't even wanna go back to you.."
