The plan was simple, or at least it was to Cisco.
The plan was to have Barry lure the meta; Audrey, out of hiding so he could either bring her in for questioning or grab a sample for Caitlin to analyze. But Barry and Caitlin were skeptical of Cisco's plan.
"What makes you think we can bring this girl out of hiding when she's been off the grid for over a year?"
Cisco rolled his eyes as he put up a map onto one of the screens "if you guys gave me a chance to explain you'd know that these 'glitches' she leaves behind creates a trail that we can track, as long as she interacts with the technology around her" he explained but the two still remained skeptical.
"I don't know dude, and what happens if I do find her? She didn't listen much the first time around" Barry shrugged "Plus I don't think the suit or I can take another frying.."
Cisco shook his head as he stood up from his desk and walked over to him "don't worry about it, this time all of the suits tech will be powered off, only working thin will be the comms whenever you need them."
Barry nodded, hesitating a bit. He was still unsure about the plan.
"So, did you find out where she's hiding out at?"
Cisco nodded and pointed to a spot on the map "I managed to track her last location down to an abandoned hospital building downtown.. Pretty creepy if you ask me" he replied.
Barry nodded "thanks, I'll check it out."
"Be careful, Barry" Caitlin warned but Barry gave her a small smile "I will don't worry.." In the blink of an eye Barry was gone and so was his suit. Now all Caitlin and Cisco could do now is wait.
~~~
Not even a few minutes passed until Barry arrived at the location. As he looked around, he noticed the building looked dilapidated to the point of being condemned.
"This place giving me some real creepy vibes" he muttered to Cisco and Caitlin as they listened through the comms.
Cisco shrugged "well the place has been abandoned for years, doesn't surprise me" he replied "plus everyone knows abandoned hospitals are creepy.."
"Not helping" Barry groaned but Cisco shrugged again "wasn't trying to."
Barry took in a small breath of the cool crisp air then exhaled with a small sigh, preparing for whatever was about to come.
"I'm going in.."
"Be careful Barry" Caitlin warned.
Barry nodded in reply before speeding in the building. The place was definitely run down, and even creepier on the inside. The walls were peeling off and the floor tiles were cracked and some even missing, while some medical equipment still remained in the building.
A shiver was sent down Barry's spine as he walked through the halls, looking into each room that he passed.
Some of the medical beds were made and some were still messy from the last patients who previously occupied them before they shut down. Even a few wheelchairs were scattered across the building almost as if the patients were forced to get up and leave suddenly.
"This place gives me the creeps" Barry muttered to himself as he continued to walk through the halls.
So far he was having no luck with finding the Meta girl or even any signs of her being there at all.
"Maybe she's already gone" he muttered again.
"Not possible, the last trace of her led us to that building. She must be hiding-" "Or" Barry interrupted "maybe she's been following me this whole time?"
Cisco shook his head letting out a small chuckle "sounds like you're getting a little paranoid there, buddy.."
"I'm not paranoid.. I'm just being cautious" he replied "besides, where else could there be to hide in this hospital? I've checked every inch."
Cisco decided to take a look at the map of the building while Barry continued to look "hey, what about the morgue?"
Barry stopped in his tracks "ok, maybe I haven't checked there yet" "well then go look, Speedy" Cisco retorted making Barry nod in reply quickly "alright! Fine I'm going.."
With a quick reflex, Barry ran down to the morgue and walked in. As he looked around the room he was filled with an indescribable eerie feeling. The room was dimly lit and had an awful smell to it.
Barry cringed as he covered his mouth and nose "there's nothing here" he reported but didn't seem to notice the comms system was down. Cisco didn't seem to notice either, both sides heard nothing.
"Cisco?" Barry asked, waiting for a reply but still nothing. Maybe he was busy with something else or maybe he just walked away from his desk?
As he turned to walk out, he nearly jumped out of his skin as a figure blocked the doorway. But Barry quickly recognized who it was.
"You again?"
As the shock quickly faded, Barry took a step towards her with his hands raised near his head "yes me.. I don't want to fight, I'm here to talk.."
The girl didn't look like she wanted to negotiate or even listen but Barry wasn't going to back down.
"Audrey.."
She hesitated to meet his stare. He could tell by the look in her eyes and her body language that she looked both scared and untrusting of him.
"How do you know my name?"
Barry stepped closer "I can tell you, if you agree to just hear me out.." He replied but she backed away with every step he made "don't be afraid.."
"I'm not afraid of you" she snapped in defense.
Barry shook his head, continuing to look her in the eyes "maybe not, but you are afraid of what you are.. Or what you can do."
Audrey glared a bit at Barry, he could tell he wasn't getting through to her yet.
"You don't know anything about me or what I can do" she snapped again but Barry shook his head once more "you're right I don't, but I know I can help you, if you let me.."
Audrey was hesitant to listen to him, let alone even trust him.
"Give us a chance, my team and I will do anything in our power to help you and keep you safe" Barry reassured her as he slowly continued to walk closer "please" he spoke again "let us help you.."
