"So I think we are done here."
Damien said once the planning was over.
I nodded in agreement and took another look at the paper lying in front of me.
"Yeah, I think so. You want to tell Shayne about it.?" I asked.
He thought for a moment and suddenly a smile appeared on his face. A mischievous kind.
"I will, but only briefly." he said.
"He is not gonna like that. He is already stressed and this is going to stress him more." I said with a concern.
In 2 hours of planning, Shayne had called him 3 times. He is going to flip out.
"Well, that would be fun." Damien said, still grinning. Man, I hope they are close enough that Shayne doesn't murder him fir that.
But on the other hand, it will be fun.

3 days later:
"So you have kept their schedules clear, right?" I asked Ian as we walked through the corridor.
"Yes, theirs and yours too, and also Damien's." he said.
"Thanks buddy. You are the best." I hugged him in response. It is actually very convenient to have Ian help us.
While we were arranging for the date, Ian pulled out few connection from the carnival, and it really smoothed out the process.
"So did you and Damien both go to talk to the manager?" he asked.
"No, he arranged everything at the carnival and I arranged other things." I said.
Sadly that was the truth. It was good in a way, did not leave space for distraction, but I still feel having him alongside, working together with him would have been more amazing.

I was really very proud of our work. While Damien somehow arranged for our plan at the carnival, I chose their clothes, including Courtney's cause she stressed out about it. Luckily i was choosing, because i chose something comfortable for the setting. I arranged bouquet of Courtney's favourite flowers, booked a limo, prepared the song playlist for drive, and rest.

EVENING :O
"Bouquet?"
"Check"
"Cash?"
"Check."
"Deodorant?"
"Wait, what?" was the reply I received from Shayne instead of Damien saying'check'.
"You want to smell good Shayne. Nobody likes a stinky pete." Damien said.
After sorting things that will be in his car and in ours, we started.
Shayne was visibly anxious about this date. I had never seen him so tensed.
I would have comforted him, but Damien handled him well enough for me not to interfere. I wish I was with Courtney right now, I know she needs me.

The entire time I and Damien didn't talk. He was laser focused on the road, and I was comforting Courtney over text.
Now and then i felt his gaze on me, like his eyes were staring at me trying to make a conversation. But I was too afraid to find out the truth. What if it was just in my mind. What if it was my mind twisting my perception of truth. The truth- I am only a friend to him

After some time we reached at Courtney's apartment building. We saw Shayne get down, talk something to himself and walk in.
Damien chuckled at that.

Few minutes later they both came down.
"Did you put together their clothes?" Damien asked me as he saw them get in the car.
" Yeah, why?" I asked.
Shayne started driving and almost immediately Damien started driving too.
"It matches perfectly and is perfect for the location." he smiled.

After a good half hour drive, we finally arrived at the carnival. The sun was slowly setting down, but the sky was still golden. I remembered how Shayne once told me that it was one of such settings when he broke up with an ex girlfriend. Life comes in full circles.
Till now we had successfully avoided getting caught by Court. It would be better if she doesn't know that it was not all Shayne today.
They got off the car and I almost lost my heart when Shayne opened the door for Courtney.
"I told him to do that." Damien said, still looking forward.
"That, is real cute. She is gonna love that." I said. She likes it dramatic and cute.
After they vanished from our sight, we got off our car and immediately ran towards the Ferris wheel.
"Did you talk to the operator?" I asked Damien.
"Yup." he said as we increased our pace to reach the small cabin of operating room.
