seaweed brain was my prophecy

I had completely forgot that this whole romance was part of Aphrodite's big plan, her quest. I barely even thought about the prophecy most of the time I was with Percy.

I still hadn't told Percy about the quest... my prophecy. And maybe it was time to, I hadn't told anyone, the only people who knew were me and Aphrodite herself. Everything in the prophecy had been done, well... I think. Or am I still stuck in it? Aphrodite? Is it complete? I finished what was needed, right?

After our night at the beach, he had asked me to be his girlfriend which I gladly accepted the honor to be.

People would probably give me weird looks... I mean I just broke up with Luke almost a week ago, but it felt right to be with Percy, I knew I wanted to be with Percy. So why let people stop me from my own happiness? Honestly, it's not like a lot will change from being best friends to official, we were the same, we acted the same.

We would walk hand in hand around camp, around to daily training and through our lessons, which were going very well now.

We sat on the porch of the Big House tonight for what was supposed to be a lesson, but turned out to be a tickle fight between us, leaving me hopelessly on the floor, dying of laughter—and I thought ADHD was supposed to help me with my reflexes... guess not when my guard is down around Percy.

"I forfeit!" I laughed, still recovering on the ground.

He leaned on top of me saying, "Do you really?" He chuckled, I have tricked him once before attacking him, but I was serious this time.

"Yes." I giggled.

"Fine." He said, kissing the tip of my nose before sitting up in a criss-crossed-apple-sauce position on the floor. I sit up with a giggle and a huge smile on my face.

"Percy..." I lightly said, "I need to tell you something."

"What is it?" He asked seriously, grabbing my hand for assurance.

"It's not bad, it's just... well, I guess weird to bring up..." I looked down with a light chuckle.

"Hey," He said smiling at me, lifting my chin back up, "I'm right here. Nothing can be weirder than Grover when there's enchiladas nearby." He laughed.

"Well..." I started with a small laugh, unsure of how to bring up my prophecy of Aphrodite's quest, he squeezed my hand for comfort, "Well, before you came to camp, about a week before, I had gotten a weird dream—or nightmare, I don't know what to call it, exactly—a goddess came and visited me..." I looked into his eyes, "Aphrodite."

"Aphrodite? Why would she—"

"Just let me finish, Seaweed Brain." I laughed, he joined into my laughter and let me continue without another word, "When she visited me in my dream, she told me to address the Oracle for a prophecy... a quest from her."

"And... you went?"

I nodded lightly looking at him, "it was like three in the morning and no one knew I went... you're the only other person who knows now."

"And?" He inquired, "What did it say?"

I thought, "it said—" I didn't want to tell him now, could I take it all back?

He squeezed my hand encouraging me to go on, sense I had stopped, "it's alright, it's just me."

"Well," I sighed, "it said 'you shall meet a boy who's color represents blue; you shall find he is similar to you'..." I quoted and he smiled, "it meant you. you were who I needed to meet, we are the same."

He smiled, "and then what?" He asked hopefully.

I sighed, "'someone you hate gets in your way;
though it's not clear, he shall choose to stay.'" I quoted again, "meaning, Clarisse." I laughed, "She's who I hated who got in between us—"

"—But I choose to stay with you, and not be with her." He chuckled, proud of himself for figuring it out, he wanted to continue that feeling, "And then?"

I winced remembering the next line, "'someone who you once admired gets in jealous rage;
a fight against the two puts one away in his cage.'" I looked at Percy, who was trying to figure it out with me, "it means Luke." I laughed, "I used to admire him and he got mad when he saw us together, then you two fought and you won so—"

"I put him 'away in his cage'" he laughed lightly, sounding a bit proud of himself.

I nodded with a smirk and continued, "'your quest may confuse you till it's done'..." I paused.

"It's alright, go on..." he assured me.

"No, that was about it." I sighed, it wasn't.

"Annabeth," he sighed, "even I'm not as wise as you, Wise Girl, and I know it always ends with a rhyme." He smiled at me encouragingly.

"I know—I can't remember..." I mumbled.

"Annabeth, I know you remember." He looked at me, he squeezed my hand for assurance, his eyes reading into my mind.

I looked back down and sighed before continuing, "'and you shall face the truth of love among one'..." I looked back into his eyes, his smile had grew and a sad smile formed on my face realizing what the prophecy had meant.

"'truth of love'" Percy smiled, "Do you love me, Annabeth?"

I just looked up at him with hopeful eyes, did I? I did.

"I love you, Wise Girl." He smiled, coming closer to me.

"I love you too, Seaweed Brain." I giggled, and his soft lips came into contact with mine.

"HEY! No PDA on the porch!" Mr. D broke us apart with a scream through the doorway, drinking a Diet Coke like it was a show.

"Sorry..." we both said quietly in unison, not looking at Mr. D or each other.

He just chuckled to himself and went right back through the doorway, into his office.

I looked back at Percy and smiled awkwardly, both breaking into laughter, "the Oracle is never wrong." I laughed.

"Guess not." He smiled.

I smiled at him, holding his hand in mine, "Seaweed Brain, you were my prophecy, you were what I needed to find."

we smiled at each other once more before falling into a deep kiss that made me know my heart, not only my brain.

Aphrodite's quest has been complete and I knew the goddess of love was watching me, kissing my true one.
