Doctor Ashley's POV:
The elevator doors open and I am greeted with my medical office. I walk out of the elevators and pass by my secretary Janice who is sitting at her desk, finishing up a phone call with a patient.
"Good afternoon Janice, how are you?" I ask her
"Dr. Ashley, I am very well. And you?" she asks pulling out the files and list of patients I will see today
"Tired as always," I say with a puff
It's only the afternoon and I'm already tired.
"Sorry to hear that sir, here are today's appointments. There was a patient who called and wanted an urgent appointment" she says
"Janice we're not a walk-in clinic. I only deal with special clients." I tell her, I mostly went to other people's homes and came only in the afternoon to the clinic.
"I know sir, but this man said that he knows you and it is a very urgent matter. You also had a cancellation for that time slot so I didn't see why not" she says
I check the list and notice it's for a patient named Liam who was first on the list
"Alright, fine. When he arrives, send him in" I say and walk towards my office
After getting settled and sending a few emails, I hear a knock on my door.
"Dr. Ashley, your patient is here," Janice tells me
In walks a young man, maybe in his late 20s or early 30s. He was tall and was wearing jeans and a sweater. He reminded me of an old friend whom I was very close with.
"Dr. Ashley. You dont understand how good it is to see you again!" He says with a smile as he walks towards me and embraces me in a hug
"Um, I'm sorry but, do I know you?" I ask this man with confusion
"Wow, guess it's working pretty well. Of all people, I didn't think you would not see through" he says taking a seat on a chair in front of me
At this point, confusion was written all over my face. I take a seat in front of this man who is smiling at me
"I'm sorry, what is your name again?" I ask
"Liam. Liam Wilson" he says
"I'm sorry man, but I've met many people in this lifetime. How do I know you?" I ask
He lays back and crosses his leg on top of each other, "What about the name Ace. Does that ring a bell?" he asks
"Your childhood best friend, your best buddy. Always there for each other, always there for one another. Ace Anderson. You remember him Doc?" He asks
Total shock came upon me with the name Ace. What was this man trying to do or say?
