Chapter 2

Sophia helps Paisley with the wedding planning since she helped her with her wedding so much.

A few weeks later Dante goes on a "business trip" with Cody. So the girls are left alone. One night Paisley is woken up by a sound.

She gets up and goes to the closet and takes put a gun. Danté has been teaching her how to protect herself when he is not around. She follows the sound to Sophia and Cody's bedroom.

She quietly opens the door and and sees a shadow move the corner of her eye. She turns and sees a man with a scar under his left eye.

He grabs Sophia and puts his gun to her head and says to Paisley, "Put down your gun and I won't hurt her." Paisley thinks for a moment and she bends down and puts the gun on the floor.

"I did what you asked now let her go." She said. He laughs and it sounds like he needs a lozenge. "Not until I get what I want." "Which is?" She asks. "My goods and money."  "How much?" "About half a million."

She gasps and says, "I don't have your money or your goods." "That's not my problem." He was slowly pulling the trigger. "Please don't hurt her!" She begs him.

Then as if Sophia and Paisley were communicating through telekinesis she shoves her elbow into his rib and ran towards Paisley.

While he is nursing his wound Paisley grabs ahold of the gun and shoots at the man. He ducks and fires a shot at them. "Find a safe place to hide." Paisley tells Sophia.

While Sophia is finding a place to hide the man fires another shot and Paisley shouts,"Get down Sophia!" This time Paisley is not planning on missing she aims at him and shoots him in the arm.

He screams and jumps out of the window. Paisley turns around and makes sure that Sophia is fine.

A few days later

The boys come back from their "trip" and the girls tell them everything that  happened that night. Danté is proud of his girl. "Do you understand that psycho could've killed us?!" She shouts them.

Danté said, "Can we talk privately?" She stands up and goes to their bedroom and he follows her. They go into the room and he asks her, "What did he want?"

She looks at him and says,"Money and goods." "Okay." "Okay? That's all you can say?" "Babe,calm down." "Calm down?" She  shouts at him. "We could've died!" "I know and I'm sorry." He pulls her into an embrace.

She relaxes. "Let's talk in morning." He says. They go to sleep. They wake and go to have breakfast. "So can we talk about the elephant in the room?" "Yeah."

"Well I shot a man with a scar under his left eye." I know who that is." "Who is it?" Paisley asks. "He's from the Vipers." "Who are the Vipers?" Sophia asks. "They're a gang that's been trying to taking over our routes." "So is a gang war gonna start?" Sophia asks.

"Maybe. Maybe not." "How can you be so casual about all of this Danté?" Paisley reacts. "Babe you need to calm down." Dante consoles her. "Fine." "I have to go to work." Sophia says. "Yeah me too."

"You're not going anywhere until it is safe." Cody says. "Cody I have to be in court today." "Sorry Sophia." "You are crazy. I'm going to work." Paisley stands up and goes and gets ready for work.

"Where do you think you're going?" "To work." "No. You stay here." "No. I am leaving." "No you're not." "Ugh! You're impossible." She goes upstairs to the bedroom. Sophia comes in and sits next to her on the bed.

"You shouldn't fight him. He is just trying to protect you Paisley." "I know that but you know I hate sitting around doing nothing." "I know that. You can read a book,play tennis,cook or do other things while you are at home."
