Chapter 15

Paisley is getting her hair and make up done. "Sophia,have the flowers arrived yet?" She asks her best friend who is also her matron of honour.

"Yes. About 5 minutes ago." She says. "Ok. Thanks." Paisley has always known that she is a perfectionist but planning this wedding has made her a bride zilla.

The make up artist adjusts her face so that she is facing her. "Sorry." Paisley says. When she is done the hairdresser styles her hair into an elegant up do.

Paisley is in her silk robe that is embroidered with the word bride on the back. Every one of her bridesmaid has their names embroidered on theirs. She gets up from the chair she was sitting in.

She goes behind a screen and changes into her dress. She has decided to wear her mother's wedding dress. It had been altered to fit her and look it was from this century as she had said it.

She comes out from behind the screens and everyone gasps at her. "How does it look?" She asks them. "You look Cinderella."

"No. Even better." She blushes at their compliments. The hairdresser clip the long veil onto her head. She looks at herself in a full length mirror and says, "I look like a royal princess."

"No. Understatement you look like a queen." Sophia says. Paisley smiles and says,"Thank you. Now let's get me married."

Sophia nods and opens the door of the hotel suite. Paisley steps out and walks to the elevator. Sophia and her other bridesmaids get in.

Her other bridesmaids are her friends from high school. They used to be on the cheer squad together. They are Olivia and Kayla. "Olivia can you believe that our favourite couple is getting married?"

"Yes. I always knew that they would. I was just wondering what took so long." "It took so long because there were some issues." 

"Like?" "Like me going to Medical School." "That's no excuse. You guys could have gotten married during the summer." Paisley thinks of the first few months she has been away from Danté.

It was probably the most difficult time in her life. They were barely adults when she found out that he was the son of a gang leader.

The most dangerous one at that. She had cried herself to sleep for the first few months. The elevator stops and that snaps Paisley out of her train of thought. She steps out and walks out of the hotel.

She sees a limousine. "Did you do all this?" She asks looking at her friends. They nod and she goes and hugs them. "Thank you so much." "It's our pleasure." Olivia says. She smiles and they get into the limo.

"This is amazing." Paisley says. They get to the church and they step out of the car. She sees her father. "Hi Dad." "Hi sweetheart." She smiles and kisses his cheek. "Ready?"

She smiles and nods at her father. He takes her hand and walks into the church. It was a beautiful chapel. She walks in and sees all her family and friends.

Then she looks at Danté. The suit looks good him. She smiles and her and father stop and he hugs her handing her over to Danté. "Hi." She says.

He is flabbergasted as his eyes rake over her dress. "Hi." He says finally after a few moments. She smiles at his reaction. The priest starts to speak. They turn their attention to him.

Then the moment of truth comes. "Do you Danté take Paisley to be your lawfully wedded wife?" "I do." He says. Then he repeats the same words to Paisley.

"I do." They smile sat each other. "Then you may kiss your bride." He pulls off her veil and cups her face. He kisses her deeply. They pull away and everyone yells in excitement.

They turn to the guests and walk down the aisle. People throw rice at them as they walk. They go out of the church and into a car.

"We are going to take pictures now." She tells him. He nods and drives to the place where they were going to get their pictures taken.

Their wedding party are driven to the venue in the limo. They get there and get out of the car. "Wait!" Paisley says. She checks her make up in the foundation mirror.

"Good. Now we can take pictures." She says and they get their pictures taken. After that they head to the reception area.

Their guests turn around to look at them. They walk down the red carpet. It was Sophia's idea. They walk over to their table and sit down. A waitress comes and serves them champagne.

They thank her and then their MC,Martin takes the mic. Martin is one of their friends from high school. He was on the football team and was the one who introduced them.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. We are about to get ready for the speeches by the friends and family of the bride and groom." He says and then Paisley's Mom and Dad come up.

They talk about and how they are happy that their daughter has found a wonderful and respectful person as her husband.

Then a few of their high school friends come up and tell stories of how their relationship was in school. Then finally the couple speaks.

"I want to thank everyone who has supported us in our relationship. In the ups and downs,the good times and the bad. I love you all." Paisley finishes off their speech.

Everyone eats and drinks. Paisley changes into her second surprise dress. Everyone is shocked by this. Even Sophia who so involved in the wedding planning.

Then it's time for Paisley and her father to have the Father and Daughter dance. After that the DJ plays Paisley and Danté's favourite song: Tamia's Into you. They sing along and dance.

Once they have danced the rest of the guests go to the dancefloor. Everyone dances and has a good time. Terius comes up to her and says, "Congratulations!"

He hugs her. She hugs him and says,"Thank you! We'll be at your wedding soon." "Yeah. If me and Mario can agree on anything." She laughs at his comment.

"Why can't you agree on anything?" "Well we are very different people." "Me and Danté are very different people too but we managed to have the wedding of our dreams." He nods and asks,"How did you do it?"

"The 3 C's. Compromise, communication and care." She tells him. "Hmmm. That doesn't sound so bad." She nods and smiles at him.

"So how has it been?" "What do you mean?" "I mean your parents dealing with Trenton's death." "Oh,that. They have been fine. They are not people who show much emotion."

"Oh. They are the type that believe that showing emotion is a weakness?" "Exactly." She nods and wonders if Trenton's family have anything to do with his obsessive ways.

She shakes her head not trying to think of him on this special day. "Wanna dance?" She asks him. He nods and they go to the dancefloor.

They dance all night long. The night ends with Danté and Paisley riding off to their honeymoon in Bora Bora.
