“She fell asleep in my car.” Jasper said standing at the front door with a fast asleep Ziggy in his arms, her face close to his chest.
“Oh, come in..” Charlie said holding the door open for Jasper. “Jasper.”
“Yes, sir?” Jasper asked turning back to look at Charlie.
“Can you promise me that you will keep her safe?” Charlie asked.
“I promise you Mr Swan .. I will keep her safe, no matter what .. she means the absolute world to me.” Jasper said.
“Good.. Cause i can't watch her hurting anymore.” Charlie said crossing his arms.
“You and me both, sir.” Jasper said, he quickly excused himself and walked up the stairs and up to the attic.
Jasper pulled back the covers on Ziggy's bed, laying her down gently, he quickly took Ziggy's shoes off before pulling the covers over her body. Jasper left the room quickly.. Saying his goodbyes to Charlie, walked out the front door before reappearing in Ziggy's room.
Ziggy was moving around a bit, fear and worry rushed to Jasper who instantly laid down beside Ziggy and wrapped his arms around her tiny frame, she was now shaking and mumbling things under her breath.
“Please..” Ziggy mumbled, turning her head. “Don't hurt me.”
Jasper pressed a kiss to Ziggy's head and kept her nice and close, trying to help her calm her emotions. “Shh, Zig.. you are okay.”
Ziggy's eyes snapped open, and she looked around trying to figure out where she was.
“It's okay.. You're in your room.” Jasper said brushing some hair from her face.
“I'm sorry.” Ziggy said moving closer to Jasper, resting her cheek against his chest, curling up against his side.
“You have nothing to be sorry for darling..” Jasper said with his chin resting on the top of Ziggy's head.
“Am i really getting better? .. Or am i just.. setting myself up for failure?” Ziggy asked Jasper, wanting his honest opinion.
“Ziggy, you are getting better, you are making great progress and you are stronger than you truly think. Your family and mine are so incredibly proud of you..” Jasper said rubbing Ziggy's back as she sighed.
