Chapter 3: Hatoff News (Short)

That morning, Dog Man woke up in hospital. He was breathing heavily, and Chief was reading a book next to his bed. He looked up "DOG MAN!!" He gave the injured officer a tight hug. "You don't understand how worried I was!! Sarah too!! Your alright though, and luckily you didn't break any bones. You had to have stitches on your legs, though," Chief explained.

Dog Man immediately had a look at both his knees; they both had big stitches across them. "Woah.." he awed.
"Look! Sarah's doing the news!" Chief exclaimed, as he pulled down a tv that was in front of Dog Man. Indeed Chief was right— Sarah was there doing the news live, and it looked to be snowing outside, as she was wrapped up warm with a scarf, a matching bobble hat and a matching pair of gloves.

"This is Sarah Hatoff with a live news update.." she began. Dog Man recognised where she was immediately. She was where the car commotion happened last night! "Last night was a tough night in this area: two police officers, known as Dog Man and Chief, had to try stop someone being kidnapped. Whom it was being kidnapped is currently unknown," she formally spoke.

"What?!? Unknown?!? Wh..where's Petey?!?" Dog Man worryingly asked, as he got himself out the hospital bed, and ran outside the room. Chief followed him "Dog Man! Wh..where are you going?!?" He rushed along, whilst he zipped up his coat that he had grabbed from the chair.

"To see Sarah!!" Dog Man shouted to him. He screeched to a halt (it must have hurt his feet) as he put his boots on, his coat, and scarf to go outside. Chief caught up "Dog Man! Your still in your hospital outfit!! Bare-legged!" He warned.
"I don't care! Petey's in trouble and we have to do something!" He ran outside, as Chief chased after him.

Eventually, the two reached to the area where Sarah and the news people were. She turned around "Oh look! It's Dog Man!" She moves to a side as Dog Man went in front of her. "WHERE'S PETEY?!?" He yelled. Sarah jumped for a second and moved the microphone a bit lower down. "Er.. w..what?" She asked, confused. Dog Man rushed over to the area where Petey had laid last night. "Dog Man! Since when could you talk?" She asked.
"Er.. long story but.. didn't you see Petey here?" He worryingly asked. Chief was there and kneeled down next to him. The road which they blocked off was covered in snow.

"Er.. no.. I got a call at 7 am about this accident.. and there was nobody there," she explained. The camera zoomed into the area which they were at, but couldn't hear what they were saying, as Sarah had put the mic down.

"No.. Chief! He was here before I went to hospital, right?" Dog Man asked, as he felt a cold and wet tear fall down his cheek.
"Yeah, I did. But I stayed with you all night so I didn't see what happened to him," Chief also explained. Sarah quickly realised the live recording, and went up to the camera.

"Er.. we were having a chat about the scene.. and erm.. anyway, it's onto Nicki with the weather," she quickly ended the recording, so nobody else could see what was going on. "Ok.. you can head back now.." she sighed. She bent down all the way, but not letting her legs touch the floor. "So.. Petey was getting kidnapped?" Sarah asked. Chief and Dog Man nodded.

"And the snow would have buried all the clues to find him!!" Dog Man whined. He put his very cold hands to his face. "You must be cold— let's bring you back to my house and get you warm again," Sarah offered, whilst she lead Dog Man and Chief to her car, and drove off.

Meanwhile, at the FLEAS' old base, Darwin had the knocked out Petey in his hands. Why am I doing this? He thought. Piggy was planning to get Crunky and Bub off Darwin's head, as they were no use at all. "You two!! If you want some cake there is some on the arm!!" Piggy fibbed, whilst an evil smile spread across his face.

"Really?!? Cool!" Crunky and Bub jinxed, as they ran down the head towards the arm. "Idiots.." Piggy muttered. "At least I have some peace and quiet!!" He laughed.

"Now, Darwin, lay down Petey on the bed and pull the lever, in that order," Piggy commanded. Darwin placed Petey on the bed, and went over and pulled the lever. "Er.. what now?" He asked, as his voice echoed in the large area. Piggy smiled in an evil way. "You'll see.. you'll see.."
