Chapter 8: Reunited

Outside the building, the four of them were wheezing really hard, especially Chief. "Ok.. cool.. we're all ok, right? Nobody's dead? We're all ok?" Sarah asked. Everyone nodded, and Petey showed a thumbs up.

"Your alive! Your here!" Dog Man exclaimed, as he hugged the ginger cat again. Petey flinched for a second, then stood up completely.

"Yeah. What did I miss?" He asked. Everyone shared a look. "Nothing, really," Chief shrugged. Petey looked around "Where's the kid? Is he ok?!" He asked.

Li'l Petey! Dog Man thought, as he grabbed Petey's hand and rushed the two to the house. "It's snowing?!" Petey randomly exclaimed on the way there.

When they got there, the door was STILL open. "Who opened that?!? Close it! The snow's getting in!" Petey complained as the two got in and shut the door. "I'm gonna have to clean this up, aren't I?" He huffed.

Meanwhile, in his bedroom, Li'l Petey was drawing another comic for Flippy. (Let's just say this is like during the time of Fetch-22.. disregarding Petey's pardon..) "I cant wait to show him it!" The kitten exclaimed, as he rushed down stairs. 80-HD was in the kitchen, cooking some dinner.

Petey had heard Li'l Petey going down the stairs, and he shouted "KID!"

Li'l Petey stopped in his tracks. He looked around. Wait.. he thought, a smile spreading across his face.

"KID!" Petey yelled again. "Kid are you there?"

Dog Man looked at the staircase. 80-HD walked out the kitchen, and saw Li'l Petey slowly stepping down the stairs.

The kitten hugged the robot, then went all the way down. Petey was there waiting for him.

A wide smile spread across his face and tears of joy were rolling down his cheeks. "PAPA!!" He exclaimed, as he rushed in and gave his dad a hug.

"Kid!! Your ok!" Petey exclaimed, as he knelt down to Li'l Petey's hight and they had a long hug. "More like YOUR ok! We thought you were dead!" The kitten explained.

"Dead? Really? I was in a box..." Petey laughed.
"Yeah, but you were presumed dead." Dog Man added.
"Wait.. what?"
"The note is in the other room! I read it!" Li'l Petey exclaimed, as he rushed over to the living room.

Petey stood up and looked at Dog Man. "Presumed dead? Note? What?" He asked in confusion. (I aM cOnFuSiOn) the kitten rushed out, and showed his papa the letter. "Read it through!"

Petey read it though in his mind, then stopped at 'He's dead'. "Like what? Why would Dar-" He stopped. "Oh. Wait. No. Piggy," He continued.

"Piggy?" Dog Man and Li'l Petey jinxed. "What about him?" DM asked.

"Duh! Piggy's the one who had ordered Darwin to kidnap me! Like he hypnotised him or something!" Petey explained.

DM gasped. "Of COURSE! It doesn't make sense that Darwin would do it, as you never did anything to him! And anyway, he seemed to always talk to himself as well, like 'What now?' Or 'How?' Or things like that! He's following Piggy's orders!" Dog Man explained.

Li'l Petey hummed. "How do you know?" He asked his papa.
"I saw Crunky and Bub.. actually, I gotta give them some credit.. they DID help me after all.." Petey thought out loud. DM was even more confused.

"What?! How?! Why?!" He asked.

Petey took a deep breath in.

"Well. I can tell you if you want me to."

Piggy was panicking. He didn't know what to do. He tried biting Darwin's ear but it looked to disgusting to put in his mouth. And he got fur balls too.

He tried to climb in, but again, too disgusting for his taste.

"Wait a minute.. are you.." Darwin thought as he picked up a 'flea' from his ear. That flea was Piggy. "Wait.. PIGGY!" He exclaimed.

"Those two specks of dirt must have been Crunky and Bub.." Darwin realised. "You little piece of crap.." he grumbled, as he flicked Piggy away. "UGH! I HATE MYSELF!! Everyone's gonna think it was ME!" He yelled.

"Why? Why did I do this? Just, WHY?"

Sarah Hatoff was doing the news, and this time she was ready. "Hello, this is Sarah Hatoff with a breaking news report. A cat known as Petey has been found, and is no longer missing. He was found in the old lab of a gang of villains called 'the FLEAS'.."

Dog Man, Petey, 80-HD and Li'l Petey were watching, as Li'l Petey ate his spaghetti hoops which were the shapes of letters.

"L is for love.. F is for friends and family.. K is for kindness.." the kitten played along. DM and Petey watched the TV together, as they high fived.

"Hey.. why did you even go after me anyway?" Petey asked. "It's not like you care, is it? Was it just because the kid was worried?"

Dog Man looked at him. "NO! It wasn't! The night with the cars was all my decision! Li'l Petey didn't even know what was going on! He didn't know you were getting kidnapped!" DM explained. Petey flinched. "Wait.. what? Really?" The cat asked.

"Yeah! I care for you, you know."
"I've been so bad in the past though!"

"The past is in the past. It's time to make a future."
