Chapter two
¦1998, 1 july¦

'Gonna miss yea, Hermione,' Hagrid told me with a small smile on his face and pulled me into a big hug. When I stepped back, I laughed once with tears in my eyes looking at all my friends.

'I'm going to miss you guys so much,' I told them as Luna and Ginny hugged me and squeezed my shoulders.

'We'll come and visit. You better do it too,' Ginny said threatening and started laughing.

Before I got on the train, Ron came up to me with his arms outstretched. In that moment his arms squeezed me tighter and I breathed more slowly, my body melting into the red haired boy's as every muscle lost its tension to the summer air. 'It'll be so weird without you and Harry around here,' he whispered in my ear, but before I could say something, he kissed me on my forehead and took my hand in his palms. 'You better show those french what's real magic,' he smiled. 'Now go!'

I approached the door of the car and smiled at them wiping away a few tears. I entered in one free compartment and smiled at them once more. When the train started moving, I waved at them as I watched Ginny through the window blowing a kiss. That was it.

¦15:25¦

'We are going to arrive in Bordeaux in ten minutes,' I assumed that the driver's voice echoed through the speakers.

Bordeaux was home to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. I always wanted to become a professor and the chance was right in front of me. I needed to build myself a life, and I thought a job would be the perfect start. I also considered teaching at Hogwarts, but it was too painful.

In exactly ten minutes, I was on the platform with my luggage and my beaded bag. The first thing that came to my mind was to look for the hotel I was going to stay for a few days, at least until I'd find a nice apartment.

I got out of the train station and started looking for the hotel's location on my phone. As I was looking in several small shops, I noticed a coffee shop a street away. I headed to it and in a few minutes, I continued walking peacefully, admiring the beautiful weather with a sweet caramel latte. Brilliant sunlight was shining amid infinite hues of white, the clouds were ruffling in ripples as if it were some divine wedding dress. Flowers of the season tilted their smiling faces towards the sun while the clouds drifted across the sky.

I reached another street and I was very excited when I saw a huge Victorian library on the other street, but right as I entered it, I started coughing. To my right, next to the entrance was a small sign with the following words:

Tu penses que je suis moche, mais je suis juste pleine de connaissances.

If you were not careful enough, the dusty sign would go unnoticed. Exactly. Dust collected everywhere as far as I could see, spider webs wove loosely around books, dirtied shelves. The ground was littered with dirt, glass, books and torn paper. Even thought, the windows were big and allowed light to enter. Clearly, it wasn't the library from Hogwarts and it was much nicer from the outside, but it resembled the large number of books.

I headed for the first shelf starting to read the titles from every book. I couldn't remember the last time I read a muggle novel. The ones that I read were full of boring adventures. I thought, after you had fight with werewolfs, death eaters, dragons and dementors, the muggle life became less exciting. As I was not paying attention, I flinched when a thick book fell off a shelf behind me with a bang. I lifted the book and I couldn't belive my eyes when I read its title: All you need to know about time - Bathilda Bagshot. The witch Bathilda Bagshot who wrote Hogwarts: A history.
