Aldc dreams (discontinued)

1st Day at ALDC LA(Part 2)

As we head into the den, I pinch myself. Am I really here standing next to Jojo Siwa and Kalani Hilliker? It doesn't make sense! All these amazing dancers  and then there's just me! I open my dance bag and try to decide whether to wear jazz shoes or trainers.

"Um, should I wear jazz shoes or my trainers for Hip Hop?" I ask tentatively.

"Oh we normally just wear trainers!" Maddie replies. I pull on my joggers, crop top and shoes then head on into the studio. 

After class, Nia tells me that Abby wants me in studio A for my solo. I pull off my top, bottoms and shoes and slip on my half-soles. I hurry in and find Abby sitting by the stereo.

"So Miss Summer-Louise, your solo is called 'A World Away' and it is about a girl who's friend has committed suicide. The girl misses her friend and is reminiscing on all the happy memories they have had together. Got it?" Abby asks. I nod my head and she plays my music. I sit there and listen to the music. It's very sad and I am thinking about the meaning of the lyrics so I can act it out. Then we go into learning it. I love it so much! It contains very tricky steps such as a turn sequence including 12 fouette turns- the hardest kind- then 5 a la secondes into a triple pirouette then into a side aerial! When Abby taught me it I freaked out and only managed 5 fouettes before falling out of my turns!  I noticed Jill and Jess whispering and felt my face go a deep crimson colour. When I master the turns, I run through the dance twice then go get Jojo for her solo.  We don't have any classes and we have an hour until we are allowed to leave for lunch so we head into the trampoline room. I awkwardly jump on a trampoline by myself watching Kenzie and Brynn having a contest over who can do the most tucks in a row.  

"Hey Summer-Louise!" Kalani calls, "come over here!". I head over to her and she gestures to the empty trampoline in between her and Kendall. I smile and start to do some of my best tricks. I do tucks, aerials, roundoffs, walkovers etc, etc. I get talking to Kendall and she's really nice! Eventually Jojo comes into the room and tells us we have an hour to get lunch. Kendall suggests I come to the mall with her, Kalani and Maddie. I agree but have to tell Mom so hurry over to the red bleachers where she is still sat chatting with Holly. 

"Mom, can I go to the mall with Kendall, Kalani and Maddie?" I ask.

"Sure honey!" She replies, "I'm glad you're making friends!"

"Are you?" I question her. She gives a small sigh.

"Holly" She says, in a tired voice, "Kira seems ok though. She was lovely about your technique and your facials! Well, I better go. Me and Holly are heading to Starbucks. Have a good time!" 

"You too!" I say, hugging my mom. I run back to the den and pull on my stuff as I tell the others I can go. I have to hold back a scream as Kendall and Maddie link arms with me and Kalani links arms with Kendall as we head out of the ALDC doors.
