The Next Day

Me and the girls wake up to the sweet smell of pancakes. I pull on my leo and tights then throw my top, bottoms and hoodie on over then put my hair in a bun with a braided headband. We hurry downstairs for breakfast and are greeted with inviting plates of pancakes. I try not to catch Ryleigh's eye as we eat. When we finish we grab our stuff and go out to Jill's car. I'm confused as when we get there we don't go straight into the studio- we walk into a building across the street. Maddie explains that this is where we have our "home-school" lessons and we each have to work on a laptop. She introduces me to our home-school teacher Miss Howard (she tells me to call her Jenna) who lends me the spare laptop for the hour. 

After finishing todays set of maths questions it is then time for us to leave for the studio. We go into the den to get ready first, then when we get into Studio A, we notice Abby with several large cardboard boxes. 
"Girls, costumes!" She says excitedly. What? Costumes! We compete on Saturday and it's only Tuesday! (Photos of the costumes will be shown in the competition chapter). Abby first pulls out a white feather boa. She drapes it around her shoulders then flicks the end behind her, diva style, making us all laugh. She then pulls out a pretty white sparkly dress which she hands to Kalani. She unravels the boa and hands that to her too. Matching sets go to Nia and Kendall and those three go get changed in the den. Abby then hands Maddie, Kenzie, Jojo and Brynn pink and black crop tops and booty shorts.
"This is exactly like the Yum Yum costume but without the headpiece!" Mackenzie exclaims. Maddie nods. They then go get changed too while I wait with Abby. They then all emerge together. Kalani, Kendall and Nia's costume is gorgeous while Maddie, Brynn, Jojo and Kenzie's costume is super cute.
"Any sizing issues?" Abby asks. No reply. "Good, now change back so we can do the duet and solo costumes". The go change and soon we are all standing in front of the other cardboard box. 2 navy blue dresses with a crop top style tops connected to the skirts with criss crosses are given to Maddie and Brynn. Next, a red flowing dress with a sequinned neck and a mesh skirt is given to Nia. I notice Holly beaming on the bleachers. It's cute how supportive she is of Nia. A white two piece is given to Jojo- it has a white crop top with lacy sleeves and the bottom part has a half skirt. Finally, a pretty yellow halterneck is handed to me. It's absolutely perfect for my dance! We go get changed and my dress fits like a glove. Everyone seems happy and we all look amazing! Abby decides we will rehearse in costume on Thursday- the day before we leave for Las Vegas. We stretch before Gia takes me into Studio B for my private. She calls my mom in and talks through hair and makeup for the competition. We run through the routine then I have a tap class with Maddie and Mackenzie then finally it's Lunch. Melissa goes round to a local store to get us sandwiches and salads so we can eat in the den. I decide to branch out more and talk to Mackenzie, Brynn and Jojo while I eat. Brynn is really sweet, Jojo is very loud but also really funny and even though Maddie says Mackenzie's annoying at home, she's really nice to me. The rest of the day flies by and soon enough, I'm in my bed, drifting off, remembering when I used to dream of dancing with Maddie Ziegler and here I am! Living my ALDC Dreams.
