I get up early and wake up Kendall. As we pull on our clothes we chat together. "Excited for your ALDC Competition Debut?" She asks. "Yeah, but I'm also really nervous!" I reply. "Don't be, it won't be as bad as mine was!" Kendall responds grinning. "That infamous tilt!" I laugh. She giggles with me. "The whole solo was a train wreck, not a very good first impression at all! Anyways, you're clearly liked by Abby so you'll be fine!". I can only hope she's right. Soon we're ready and we're heading down for breakfast.
After breakfast it's straight onto the bus for a short drive to competition. I sit with Kendall and we talk some more. "I'm pretty sure nobody except me has had that bad a first impression with Abby so you'll be great!". I can only fake giggle and swallow back my nerves. Eventually we pull up in front of a large high school they're using for the competition. I peer out of the window to see the crowds of fans with signs saying "Go ALDC!" and "We Love You Abby!!". I feel even more nervous as the pairs of eyes stare me down, watching my every move. By the time we get to our dressing room, I'm trembling all over. My mom squeezes my hand for reassurance and I relax slightly. The mirrors are set up and we all get changed. The solo category is up first, then duet/trios then group.

Once I'm in my costume, my hair and make-up is perfected and Abby calls me to run through my solo. I hit my starting position and Abby plays the music through her phone. I go full out on performance and nail my complex turn sequence. When my end position finally comes, Abby starts applauding me. I smile however all of a sudden, disaster strikes. The witch of east canton herself, Cathy Nesbit Stein, strolls into our dressing room followed by a bunch of moms who must be part of the CADC team. "Well, well, well. Look at what the cat dragged in!" She exclaims, prompting smirks and giggles from the Candy Apples Moms. There's one mom with blonde hair that I sort of recognise but I can't place where I've seen her. "Cathy, leave!" Abby barks in a commanding tone, "You have NO business in our dressing room!" Abby reaches for her purse, "I'll call security!". "Oh there's no need!" Cathy waves a dismissive hand towards us, "Just wanted to wish your newest member bad luck!". The Candy Apples Moms cackle at Cathy's "joke". Abby holds her phone up to her ear, " I will call!". The blonde mom makes eye contact with me but I quickly look away. "We were jusy stopping by anyways! Tootles!" Cathy smirks as her and her group of moms exit the room. I catch the blonde mom looking at me again. "Who's that blonde mom in the blue blouse?" I ask Maddie as she know pretty much all of the CADC moms by name. "I'm not sure, I haven't seen her at other competitions so she must be a newbie like you and your mom." Maddie tells me. "OK girls! Over here!" Abby beckons us over, "Do not let those rotten apples intimidate you. They're nothing against us. Soloists, Maddie, Brynn, Kalani- don't let me down.". We all nod and put our hands in together. "ALDC!" We scream.
Me, JoJo, Nia, Brynn and Maddie are soon taken backstage. I run through my dance in the wings, marking it on the spot and going through the movements in my head. Soon enough, we hear the announcer say: "Please welcome to the stage, act number 162! This is JoJo with 'Is It Enough?'". We cheer for her as she lyrical walks on to the stage. She takes her position and the music begins. Her movements are graceful and her faces are perfect however I do notice some sickled feet. She'll have amazing performance marks! I'm fully trembling as JoJo does her last turn without falling and ends on the ground. The audience cheers wildly as she walks off. Nia runs forward and hugs her as I prepare to enter the stage. "Next up is act number 163! Please welcome Summer-Louise performing 'A World Away'!". I step on stage and let the music carry me away. I float through my movements with precision and skill. My facials are perfect and my turns are smooth with a high relevé. When the song draws to a close, I see Abby, Mom, the girls (including JoJo who opted to sit with her mom after changing into her group costume) and all the other moms applauding me. The only person (other than the candy apples) not applauding is Jess. Oh well, I say to myself. I don't need her validation. When I get backstage Nia and Brynn all applaud me and Maddie engulfs me in a hug. "You were so good!" She gushes. I smile at her. "Thanks!" I reply happily. I was near the end of the Pre Teen solos so soon enough we move on to the Teen (Nia's) category. "Please give it up for act 195, 'Changed!'. This is Nia!". Everyone is clapping as I notice three people wearing Candy Apple jackets enter the wings. I recognise two of them as Gino and Taylor from watching dance moms however I'm confused as to who the third dancer is. I recognise him from somewhere but he never appeared on Dance Moms. We make eye contact and it hits me. "Nate?!" I ask, surprised. "Summer!?" He replies, "What are you doing here??". "I'm on the ALDC Team! New recruit! And you're a rotten-no- a Candy Apple!". "yeah..." He shrugged awkwardly. "I forgot it was Ohio you moved to last year!" I remember. I realise it was his mom I saw. "I've actually been on Cathy's team since last year but we weren't allowed to be shown on TV halfway through the season.". "cool..." It's suddenly awkward, "I'm gonna finish watching Nia..". "Yeah, see you around I guess..". I turn back to see Nia finish an amazingly complex turn sequence into a front aerial and land perfect. "Who was that?" Maddie questions me. "oh, just an old friend.." I respond. "Seemed like more than a friend" Maddie giggles and winks at me. I playfully swat her hand away.
This was all I wrote from the last chapter of this story. I have lost all motivation and I will not be finishing it. My 2019 dance moms phase is over, I'm sorry. I'll leave this up for people to read but I won't be adding any new parts. Thank you for all the views and I'm sorry.
