I heard the alarms go off throughout the building. My heart dropped. The Separatists were here and they were here for one thing, my mom. Without thinking twice, I rushed down the hallways not stopping until I found her. I heard a scream coming from one of the doors at the end of the hallway.
Quickly, I threw open the door to find Asajj impaling my mom with her two blood red lightsabers. To her side stood my uncle, Dooku. As soon as they saw me, they quickly fled. Without thinking twice, I rushed over to my mom, picking her up in my arms. She weakly raised her head to look at me. Tears filled her eyes as she raised a hand, placing it on my cheek.
"Miona, you have grown so beautiful." She croaked out.
"Don't worry mom, I'll get you to a medic. We're going to save you, all right?" I assured her.
I then glanced over at her tunic to see it drenched in blood. She must have known as she shook her head. "No, I'm not going to make it. You and I both know that. I'm sorry for not being at your side. "
"There's nothing to apologize. You knew that I was Force-sensitive and you turned me over to the Jedi Order. You did the right thing, mom." I mentioned.
Mom's face hardened, but said nothing of the matter. Instead she changed the subject as tears filled her eyes. "Remember that lullaby I sang to you? Would you sing it for me...please?"
I nodded. "Of course. Anything for you, mom."
And so I began to sing the lullaby that she would always sing for me. "I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'll never let you go. When all those shadows almost killed your light. I remember you said don't leave me here alone. But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight. Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be all right, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound."
As I sang the lullaby, mom whispered out. "Find your father, go to Middle-Earth, and tell him I sorry I am for leaving. Please do it as my dying wish..."
Before I could protest, I felt her perish in my arms. The pain so much that I felt my heart would break into a million pieces. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I cradled my mom, refusing to leave her side.
"Miona! Please wake up!"
I heard Bard's voice and my eyes fluttered open. As soon as I got up, I coughed up some water. Once I coughed up all the water, I turned to see Bard kneeling beside me with Bain beside him. We were on land by the river with a few of the Lake-town people around us.
"Miona, are you all right?" Bard asked.
"Yeah, don't worry about me. I've been through worst." I assured them.
Bard didn't look convinced at my words as he reached out to check my arms. I tried to pull away, not wanting him to see my burns, but it was too late. Bard had already pulled up my sleeves, revealing my burns that still hurt me. He looked horrified upon seeing them. My burns had blisters that had opened up.
"Miona...what happened?" Bain inquired, looking worried.
"I'm fine, you guys. It was the only way to get those cuffs off my wrists." I protested as I tried pulling my arms away.
Bard kept his grip on them, causing me to wince. Bard loosed his grip, but he didn't let go. Bain's eyes widened as he took a closer look. "Those burns look terrible."
"I'll be fine. We should look for Tilda, Sigrid, Neria, and the others." I mentioned.
I was about to get up, when Bard stopped me. He placed a hand around my waist and gently forced me back onto the ground. I felt my heart flutter at his touch. And immediately I mentally shook my head. I'm a Jedi Knight and I shall think of such thoughts.
