Chapter 13 - Like A Nightmare Came True

Everything was dark around me. I tried to move my body - but no, something was keeping me from it. Raising my head, I tried to look at my surroundings. Panicked, I desperately whispered his name.
"... Ai... Ai...!!!"
"... [F/N]!!" Ai whisper yelled as he entered this place - wherever it was.
"W-What's going on...?? Why am I tied up?"
"It's okay, calm down. I'm gonna get you out of here," he told me softly, starting to unravel the ropes.
"Reiji...!" I snapped once I noticed him. "Thank god you're okay, why would you even think of-!?"
"I appreciate your concern, but let's talk about this later, alright?" he jabbered as gently as he could.
"Well... well... well. Why am I not surprised?" a cold voice hummed in the darkness. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"H... Huh?" I breathed. That voice was extremely familiar. Ai blinked as well, while Reiji let out a growl.
"Eiichi..."
"... W-What...? I... Eiichi... Eiji...! Nagi! What are you all doing... w-were you kidnapped too!? So that's why you disappeared...!"
Eiichi started laughing loudly, while the other two looked down. I just noticed that all of them were armed, and there were several huge men in the room beside them.
"..." I slowly grew pale. "... Eiji. It wasn't you three, right?"
Eiji didn't answer. He stayed silent, looking in front of himself with the saddest look I've ever seen.
"... E-Eiji...!" I teared up.
"... [F/N]-chan...~ I just can't believe how naive you are!" Eiichi laughed. "It was Eiji who left the video in front of Reiji that ruined your career! It was Nagi who handed Reiji the chip and drove him into insanity! It was me who took control of your precious boyfriend and was an inch away of making him choke all life out of you!!"
"What!?" Ai snapped beside me.
"And now... it was me who took you here. What's up, sis? Are you shocked? Do you feel betrayed? Yes, I can see the pure sorrow in your eyes! Good..."
"..." I shook my head. "No..."
I could feel tears rolling down my cheeks. "... No..."
"... What is wrong with you!?" Reiji suddenly screamed. "[F/N] was worried to death about all three of you!! She thought you were in trouble!! She wanted to help you!! And this is what you are doing!?"
"Wanted to help us!?" Eiichi suddenly laughed out. "Oh please! Tell me one, one time she has ever tried to help me or my brother over the past ten years!! Huh!? Tell me ONE. FUCKING. TIME!!"
"Nii-san, please stop ye--"
"Shut up!!" he screamed at Eiji, who tensed up and looked down. "My father is dead! My band is in pieces! My career is over! My life is in ruins!! Why!? All because of HER!"
"... E-Eiichi, I'm sorry if I ever did something wrong, but I promise I'll try to fi--"
"Fix it!?" he cut me off, with a more pained laugh this time. "Nothing can erase the misery I've experienced for the past six years! Nothing will erase the hate that you and your little group have put on our name! Nothing... NOTHING can bring back my father!!"
"... E... Eiichi... I..."
"There is one thing you can do..." he grinned, slowly pulling out a knife. "... and that is to die."
I widened my eyes.
"Don't touch her!!" both Ai and Reiji screamed at the top of their lungs at the same time, but a bunch of the men threw themselves at them, holding them down.
"G-Guys...!!" I whispered with a dry throat, as Eiichi lifted the knife.
"Sayonara, sister!!"
I closed my eyes shut waiting for the pain, listening to Ai and Reiji desperately screaming my name.
Then, a new voice.
"NO!!"
I felt strong arms wrap around me and squeezing me. The impact never came.
"..."
I was terrified to open my eyes. I knew that voice. I only clenched in his shirt, desperately, not wanting to let go.
I slowly looked up, trembling. His arms slowly loosened around me, as I could see the insane pain visible in his red orbs that were staring into my own ones.
Then I heard Reiji scream.
"OTOYA, YOU IDIOT!!" his yells got mixed with sobs. "I TOLD YOU, I-I told you to stay home, you stupid...!!"
"... Otoya..." I whispered, horrified.
Eiichi grinned, pulling out the knife from his back, earning a horrible cry in pain from him.
"Otoya!!" I screamed desperately as he stumbled to the ground. I started sobbing loudly. "W-Why-!?"
"... I-It's okay, Nee-chan..." he whispered in a pained, weak voice. "... I-I'm... your knight... you know that..."
I tried to get the ropes off of me with all my power, as I watched him go limp on the ground.
"O-Otoya...!!" I cried loudly. "Please... please don't... please...!!"
"... Well, I didn't like him anyway." Eiichi shrugged with a grin.
"... Why...!? T-This is not you, Eiichi...!!"
He harshly grabbed my chin.
"... You turned me into this." he hissed, dropping my chin, making me drop my head and curl up on the floor as much as the ropes allowed me to.
Otoya's hurt, I'm going to die, everything is over, my life is over, by the hands of the man I thought to be my brother for fourteen years...
I waited for the pain to come, lying there on the floor and staring at Otoya's lifeless face, sobbing.
Then, I heard a loud gunshot and a cry in pain. I smelt the gunpowder in the air.
As I looked up, I saw Eiichi on the floor, pressing his hand against his chest.
"... I'm sorry, brother... but you chose the wrong path." I heard Eiji's gentle, sad voice say.
"... Y-You... how dare you...!?" he growled in pain.
"Don't worry, Nii-san," he said gently. "I'm going with you."
With that, Eiji pointed the gun at the men holding the boys.
"Let them go."
As the boys were released, Eiji rushed to my side and untied me.
"E-Eiji..."
"It's okay. It's almost over," he whispered gently, helping me stand up. "One of you grab Otoya and run as fast as you can. Nagi, you go too. Run. Now."
Reiji took Otoya in his arms, as they turned to the exit.
"W-What about you??"
"I'm staying with my brother."
"W-What? But-!"
"[F/N]." he cut me off, grabbing my shoulders. "... Even if we aren't related by blood... I think of you as my sister. And I love you."
"..." I blinked at him. I saw his eyes get filled with tears as he smiled sadly. He hugged me against his chest, leaving a kiss on the top of my head.
"I love you... and that's why I'm doing this."
"... W-Wait, wha-"
He suddenly gave me a hard shove towards the exit, then lifted the gun and shot the ceiling several times. I widened my eyes, horrified, as I could only watch his smiling face disappear between the piles of rocks.
"Come on!!" Ai grabbed my wrist and dragged me outside as the whole mine collapsed in a matter of seconds, huge rocks falling everywhere.
..... Eiji...
I couldn't even notice the insane pain in my right leg.
The sounds of sirens in the distance.
Ai holding me and trying his best to shush me and calm me, while I could only scream, cry and sob uglily, slamming my small fist against the rocks.
"EIJI!!!!"
"Shh, [F/N], it's okay, it's okay." Ai hugged my body, although he was shaking himself while my right leg was stuck under a rock. "It's over."
"No!! G-Get- Get Eiji out of there!! He's still in there!! You can still save him, please, go, go!!!" I cried, desperately clenching into his shirt.
"[F/N]!" Nagi grabbed my shoulders. "Eiji's gone...!"
"..." I shook my head. "No... No, please..." 
My voice got drowned in my violent sobs, as Ai pulled me against his chest again and rubbed my back.
I could only sob there, as the ambulance arrived, they got me out of under the rocks, and before I knew, they were bringing both me and Otoya to the hospital. I fell unconscious.

...

... It's okay, Nii-san. See? It ends just like it started. Just the two of us against the world... Okay? I'm always by your side... Lying peacefully in this mine for eternity, together.
