Part 3 (for myself)

As soon as Jaemin slams the door closed, Mark walks over to me and asked "hey hey, what's going on here? Are you good?" I look at him kind of surprised to why he looks so concerned. It's not that we are close or anything.. "uh yeah I'm good.." I manage to say before I look down on my phone to see a text from Yuna saying "Yeji unnie wanted me to help her with something so I had to leave. Sorry unnie TT" I sigh after reading her text and Mark then asked me "want to go somewhere?" I look up at him and slowly nod. I mean I have nothing to do at the moment so might as well spend some time with him. Mark and I walks over to the beach and I look at the beautiful sight in front of me. It might not be like at home but it was definitely nice to get out of the busy life. We walk around for a good 10 minutes before he asked me "so how do you know Jaemin? I mean you seemed really upset about how he treated you so I assume that you guys know each other.." I just stand there for a while until I say "I guess you could call us childhood friends? I don't know about him but to me, he was like my best friend.. but one day he had to move out of town and I guess we drifted apart.." I continue to talk about what we did as kids and he slowly nods at me but he then smiles at me and said "hey, don't worry.. I'm sure you guys will be close just like you were back then.." he pats my head and I smile back at him. It's weird how Mark reminds me of the old Jaemin I knew.. We get back inside the building and he tells me that he needs to get something from his dorm and offers me to go with him. I mean sure why not? I wait outside until Mark yells "Ryujin! Come inside!" I hesitantly walk inside the dorm to see Mark holding a keychain with a bear on it. "Isn't it adorable?" He asked handing me the keychain which I respond with a huge smile on my face. "You can have it." He then proceeded to say and I look at him confused. "You seemed so upset today that I thought you might want something to cheer you up." He smiled and I smile back at him. "Thank you! I'll treasure it!" I said while admiring the keychain. I then see at the corner of my eye an old shoe. I walk closer to it and I then see that it's my shoe! My shoe that I purposely ripped apart so he could stay and fix it for me. I grab it and tears starts falling down my face. If he did forget about me then why does he carry this around? What if he is just lying to me? Mark looks at it and then at me before asking "are you okay Ryujin?" I quickly wipe my tears away and smile at Mark. "Yeah I'm fine it's just- this brings back memories, that's all.." I said while looking at my shoe again. Then Jaemin walks inside the room and looks at Mark and I. He then spots the shoe in my hand and snatched it away from me. "What the hell is wrong with you? Are you really that stupid to not understand what I'm trying to tell you? Leave me alone." He snapped at me and I quickly take a step back. I have never until this very moment seen Jaemin mad before or even annoyed. What happened to my best friend who I could rely on? Mark then grabs my arm and pulls me behind him before saying "don't talk to a woman like that man." They keep arguing until I yell "stop!" They both look at me and I grab the other shoe from my bag. I then show it to Jaemin before I said "I know it might sound off but I'm Ryujin Shin.. your best friend." He looks at the shoe I'm holding and scoffed "I don't even know who you are okay? This shoe is from my girlfriend and not from someone crazy like you so can you please leave before I call the manager." Are you being serious? What girlfriend is he talking about? I was the one who gave him that shoe that day he had to move out. I just stuff my shoe back into my bag and bow down to both Jaemin and Mark. "I'm sorry for causing a mess at your dorm Mark. I better get going." I said before I walk out of the room. As soon as I get inside my dorm, that's when I let my tears run down my cheeks. How could he break a promise like that? What do I do now? I did this for him but I don't see the point of it all when he doesn't even know me anymore.. Yuna walks out of our room and spots me at the entrance. "Unnie?" She asked and I look up at her. Without hesitation she hugs me and calm me down. I tell her what happened and she was surprised to find out that the guy I did this for, wasn't the same guy that I was hoping he was. "So I guess I'll just go home again and drop being an idol.." I said and Yuna looked shocked at me. "Are you serious? You went through all of this and now you're going to give up?" She asked me and I mean she has a point. It's just, he was really the reason why I was determined to be an idol and it's just a waste of time when he doesn't even know who I am. "Look, I know it's hard and that he was the main reason why you came here to Seoul.. but wasn't there a little bit of yourself who wanted to be an idol?" she asked. I slowly nodded and she smiled at me. "Well then stay here! Do it because you love it and not for someone to notice you!" She encourages me and honestly, I feel so relieved that Yuna was here for me. It might be pointless to hope that Jaemin will remember me but from now on I'm going to stay for my own good!
