Our First Meeting

"Ah! Hello there!" A real estate agent walks up to me as I was looking at a house next to a very eccentric one.
I already knew I wanted to buy this one and I wanted to stay here indefinitely.
Just depended on if the Government would let me.
"Hi." I give her a friendly but tired smile, since I'd been on my feet since 5 am looking around for a good house for me and (y/n) for a while. We needed to get out of our last place fast, and since I had a lot of money saved up from my inventions over the years, I was able to afford moving frantically.
"So you're interested in buying a house, I see? Yes this one is for sale for-"
"It really doesn't matter I'll take it... I know that you technically must have a ton of bidders but just keep me at the top. I'll pay more than anyone else." I say with a tired smile, walking inside and looking around.
"So! You're going to be our new neighbor, hmm?"
I hear a slightly deep and very unique voice speak out from behind me.
"Mhm. you must be The Professor?" I turn around to look at him, he stands at least a good half a foot taller than me.
"That is correct! Professor Membrane. It's lovely to meet you-"
"Vai. But everyone calls me tic."
"How curious, please indulge me as to Why they call you Tic?"
"My little sister calls me tic and because I'm an inventor." I say like it's second nature. By this time it was though. No doubts about it.
"Inventor, you say? Consider me impressed, someone else who has studied science." His goggles seem to almost gleam like they were his eyes.
"Yes, I do say, and yes I am." I respond, a little sassily. I wasn't expecting to be right at it with my neighbors yet.
"well consider me interested. But I must be going! I was on my way to my lab, but I was distracted by a new car in the road. Have a great day!" Was his response as he waved and walked out of the door.
"Odd man..." I whisper to myself.

Over the course of the next few days of waiting for getting approved, I seen "Professor Membrane" on the tv very often, usually with some World changing Device.
He grabbed my attention to say the least, but it's best to hold guards up when first moving you never know what could happen.
