"Alright, how about we start running it?" Professor Membrane says, putting his tools back in the right place.
I gave him a smile, nodding, climbing in to the device and preparing for it to start.
"You all ready in there, Vai?" I hear the Professor shout, and I just finally realized how actually super special this whole experience is.
A world famous scientist helping ME with one of my own machines. This is such an amazing experience...
"WAIT!!! Wait!!"
I jump out of the machine quickly, running over to him and hugging him.
I feel his body go rigid for a moment, clearly he wasn't expecting this.
"What-"
"Thank you for helping me, Professor. It means a lot." I say with a big grin, letting go of him as I run back into the machine.
"Alright, I'm ready."
"Uh- Okay. 3... 2... 1..." I hear a click of a button and the machine starts whirring, sparks flying as it warms up.
"Something's not righ-" I hear the Professor say until he yells out in shock.
The machine fizzles and shuts down. I jump out, concerned for the scientist.
He looks up at me, seemingly completely unharmed.
But some how... he looks younger. He takes off his goggles and pulls down the fabric in front of his mouth.
"It appears to have... Reduced my age." He looks at himself in the mirror that's in my lab.
"I look to be 30 again."
"Huh." I say, looking at him, placing my hands on his face to look at him closely.
"Can I be truthful?" I ask, looking over his face. He was kind of handsome.
"Of course." He gives me a little smile.
"You're kind of cute."
His face goes a bit stoic as he looks away and pulls back down his goggles. He pulls up the lab coat as well and I start to notice a tiny blush on his cheeks.
"No... No one has found me attractive in years." I could tell the comment sort of confuzzled him.
"O-oh, I'm sorry- I mean, I didn't mean to cross a line-"
"No you're quite fine." He stands straighter, brushing his lab coat off and regains his usual grandeur sort of aura.
"I must find out what caused this effect!!" He held his finger up like he was making an inquiry. "What ever did this is revolutionary! But that doesn't mean it should be repeated. Who KNOWS what other effect it could have..." His eyebrows furrow together quizzically as he pauses for a long moment. I just smile lightly and watch, taking this all in.
"How will you do that?"
"Well for one, I'm going to have to study your device for what possibly went wrong." He quickly rushes over to the time machine, looking over it. "But nothing on the surface appears to be wrong! How strange..."
