The Professor was taking apart the machine to find out what the problem was. His hair was a tiny bit shorter but not by much and his skin looked a lot more youthful, as though these past 15 years had taken a large toll on him.
I watched and offered what help I could as he took apart my work to find out what went wrong. He was not being too overly affected by the possible effects caused from the human body being reversed in time, and he was still functioning just fine.
It was very odd.
"Professor." I ask.
"Yes, Vai?" He looks up from his work, his eyes immediately focusing on me.
"May I run some tests on you later for any signs of DNA mutations or such? I am a bit concerned for the effect that the age decrease may have had on you."
"Of course, Vai! I am pleased you thought of that." He beams at me, putting his tools away as he walks over to me.
"how would you like my DNA?"
"A strand of hair please." I say with a smile.
He plucks a strand of hair from out of his head making sure to keep the root intact. He hands it to me as I walk over to my other devices.
I begin to analyze the DNA sequence. It was stable.
"how strange..." I whisper to myself as I analyze the sequencing.
"Is it mutating?" Professor Membrane questions, looking over my shoulder.
"It hasn't yet, you appear to be stable." I say, looking up at him. "So I think you're okay." I give him a smile, sitting back in my chair.
"Good. Although I would love to study what the effects of genetic instability would look like and what effects it would have..." He responds with a furrowed brow and a curious look to his goggles.
"Same, but I'm glad it didn't have that effect on you, or else I'd happen to have to blame myself." I respond. "Are you sure you don't need any help?"
"I'm very positive, thank you. But you could hand me that Science Wrench if you'd like." He gives me a look that suggests he's smiling as he looks back at the torn apart machine. I hand him the science wrench, watching the scientist take off the final nut to the machine, looking over all the parts.
"Nothing appeared to be wrong at all... So what was the issue..?" He slaps the wrench against the palm of his other hand a couple of times, appearing to ponder over what could of possibly happened and how.
"I cannot stand for the idea of fate, as that is illogical, but I cannot place it on anything else..." He then frowns. "I have to disprove that this is fate but how..?"
