Draco's POV
"Are you bloody kidding me?!" I hiss as I watch the Dark Lord vanish alongside (Y/n) as I finally get within arms reach of her.
That vile, devilish bastard!
"No! Please no!"
I glance to my side and watch as Diggory's knees buckle beneath himself. Heavy tears are streaming harshly down his deeply flushed face. I can't help but scoff a little at the sight of it.
"Get up, you git," I hiss, turning by back to him and beginning to stalk towards the exit. "Bawling on your knees like the Hufflepuff you are isn't going to solve anything."
"Watch it, Malfoy!" Potter snaps at me, shoving my shoulder, causing my steps to come to a halt.
"Keep your hands off of me, Potter. I have important things to do," I state bluntly, shoving past the raven haired wizard and his ginger counterpart.
"Like what? Saving her?"
I automatically freeze as Diggory's words fill the suffocating air. Slowly turning in my place, my gaze meets the wizard's angry, tear stained glare. His pale grey eyes become darkened with an emotion I know well: hate.
"You're the reason we're in this situation to begin with," the sandy haired boy growls, standing up from his position on the floor. Taking long strides towards me, I see the tensing in his jaw increase. He stops less than a foot away, his inch or so taller stature now irritating me more than it ever has before. "It would be better for you to lay low, don't ya think? Leave the rescue mission and heroics to me. You know, the one she really-"
"She's not yours to save anymore!" I shout, my hand grasping a fistful of his shirt, pulling his face closer and lower to my own.
The panicked voices of my surrounding classmates all hush, but I don't care. I've dealt with Diggory's foolish, naive proclamations of love for the last time.
"She's not your Princess anymore, she's mine! Do you understand that?! She belongs to me, she is my future queen. I need to save her, and I'll be damned if the Hufflepuff Prince gets in my way," I hiss, releasing his shirt from my grasp and spinning towards the door.
I shove past Potter and Weasley once more, my shoulders knocking their own. Pushing a few more wizards and witches out of the way, I finally make it through the exit and into the corridor.
Which is where I lose it.
A cracked sob escapes my throat, my knees buckling beneath me. Leaning against the wall, I let the tears stream down my face. My body begins trembling as the memory of (Y/n)'s terrified demeanor fills my mind.
It's all my fault. I knew she was lying about something, I knew she was! And that bloody Dark Lord! He wasn't trying to get to know me, he was trying to get to know her. I can't believe I drug her right into his trap. How foolish could I-
"You're wrong, you know."
My gaze flies up to the frizzy haired witch standing above me. I quickly wipe my eyes and slide back up the wall.
"What the hell are you going on about, Granger?" I snap, rolling my eyes at her. Though I must admit, her presence is definitely better than Diggory's.
"About (Y/n) being yours. You're wrong," Granger sighs, leaning up against the wall across from me. "She may be a Slytherin on the inside, but she will never belong there. Not now, not after all of this. In the end, she'll be Cedric's queen, just like she was meant to be. You want to know why?"
