Deed 3: Hagrid

The whole school was in a frenzy about who the Shadow Girl was. I quietly listened to all the gossip, laughing in my head. Everyone thought that it was some poor Slytherin girl named Maya Flint.

She has a pet snake, making people think it is her. People these days... Some people separate themselves from here, because of the suspicions, and I feel horrible because I could stand up for her but that would mean people finding out who I am, which is something I don't want. I don't want to be looked at in a different way. I don't want their stares. I don't want their pity. I don't want their disgust.

The person who bullies Maya the most is a Gryffindor named Hana Wood. And I thought Flint and Wood would work well together... I mean flint and wood make fire...

I once heard Wood smack talking Maya saying things like, "At least Gryffindor doesn't house the daughter of the darkest wizard of all time!" How wrong she was...

Anyways, Deed 3 is done! I read about it at lunch, because I woke up late. I sit at the edge of the group, trying to give Teddy his space. He seems confused about me. I can tell he's decided whether he can trust me or not. I hope he makes the right decision.

Here's the deed:

Shadow Girl Seeks Second Chances

This week, Shadow Girl brings joy to none other than Rubeus Hagrid. Hagrid was falsely expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for "opening the Chamber of Secrets." Of course, after the war this was found false, having been the doing of You-Know-Who. Being expelled, Hagrid's wand was snapped. He hasn't had one for over 60 years.

After the war, Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger testified in a court hearing that Hagrid should be able to get a wand again. Having been the busy giant he is, settling down with his half-brother Gawp took some time. They travelled for a long time together and only just last year, Hagrid had retaken his post as Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts, as well as the Care of Magical Creatures Professor. This certainly has kept him busy, unable to obtain a wand for some time now.

That is, until now. The Shadow Girl has taken it upon her to make an unchangeable appointment for Hagrid to go Ollivander's (For more information on Ollivander's, see page 8) to receive his wand. She may have bought a wand for him herself, but after all the wand chooses the wizard as Mr. Ollivander so famously says. This is what the Shadow Girl has to say for herself:

Dear Professor Hagrid,

You are by far an extremely hard working individual who was falsely accused of something that still has effect on you to this day. I chose you this week, because I believe we have something in common with one another. We are both falsely accused without having to get a say in it. You, opening the Chamber of Secrets, me, for being like my father.

I hope you are able to use this wand and re-learn everything that was taught to you so long ago. Maybe Professor McGonagall will allow you to re-study here at Hogwarts! If not, I bet you could always ask for help from your friends, like the Brightest-Witch-of-her-Age, Hermione Granger.

Now, a message to the Prophet readers and writers. To all those reading from within Hogwarts, I have seen you falsely blame your peers for being the daughter of Voldemort (If the name still bothers you, I'm sorry). I've especially been interested in the pair of people where one Gryffindor keeps bullying a single Slytherin girl, whom I know is not the Shadow Girl. Stop throwing accusations. I know you want to know who I am, but patience is key. Maybe if I see people working harmonoessly, I will reveal something about myself next week. Maybe, what year I'm in, or a favorite thing of mine. The possibilities are endless.

Now, to the rest of the reader's, it seems only fitting I quote the man that inspired both Harry Potter and me. The man who coincidentally was falsely accused of the murder of Lily and James Potter. "There is both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the path we choose to act on. That's who we really are." -Sirius Black.

I'll write to you all again next week,

        Xx Shadow Girl xX

Today, Hagrid's response was, "She ain't like 'er father that one. She is a powerful one, no doubt there! But she's do'in good with it. Not evil. I want to meet 'er," He says. More and more people are beginning to trust this Shadow Girl. Is it just a ploy though? Only time will tell...

Harry was upset I quoted Sirius, as the memory is still a bit painful. And now, the Golden Trio is confused about how I knew that quote. They say it quite a lot though, especially while talking about the Shadow Girl.

I would say I'm exited to see their faces after the big reveal, but that would be a lie. And I must not tell lies ;) Truth be told, I'm horrified to reveal myself.

Will they hate me?

Will I lose all my friends like I've seemed to have lost Teddy?

Will anyone ever trust me again?

As the Prophet said, only time will tell...
