"Stop it!" I screamed as Harry picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. "Harry, I swear to god-"
He laughed loudly, his real laugh, and began spinning me around in a wide circle, still kicking the muddy ball underfoot as I squealed.
"Okay, okay," he chuckled as he set me down gently. "What's the score again?"
"I have four and you have...zero," I smiled. He rolled his eyes.
"Goddamn, you're beating my ass, princess."
I laughed and looked around to the other four idiots, all of which were talking to their girlfriends (yes, all of them are dating someone- even Liam).
"My friends are pussies," he sighed as he followed my gaze. "Damn. I guess it's just you and me, yet again."
"Norah," Liam's girlfriend called cheerily.
She was Brooke, the shallowest girl I'd ever met and that is not an exaggeration. But he loved her, and it wasn't my place to tell him who to date.
Then there was Charlotte, Brooke's best friend, who was dating Zayn. She was basically a perfect copy of Brooke so not much to say there.
Louis was dating Bailey, a Catholic girl who was quiet and shy but she was also really sweet.
Niall was with Kathleen. She and I hung out almost every weekend and I loved her to death. She was funny and sarcastic, and thank god for the curves on that girl because the other three made me feel obese. Kat, as we called her, was exactly my height and weight and loved sleeping just as much as I did. But where I was obsessed with soccer, she loved ballet. I went to nearly every performance of hers and she was at every game of mine.
"Yes?" I smiled politely as I finally got to Brooke. Her fake red hair was tied up in a ponytail and she was wearing some silly shorts, like she actually came here to play soccer with us.
"Are you and Harry dating?"
"Um, no," I laughed. "Not at all. Just friends."
"He's really hot actually," she mused.
Liam scoffed and she spun around quickly, looping her arms around Liam's neck as she giggled.
"I was just kidding baby," she smiled sweetly. He grinned down at her and began kissing her right there, their lips making disgusting sounds as I gagged silently.
"Cool," I mumbled as I left their group and walked back to Harry.
"What did that bitch want?" he smirked. I slapped his arm.
"Do not talk about girls like that," I scolded. "I'm starving Harry, can we please go get some pizza?"
"Of course," he grinned, wrapping his arm around my waist. "Whatever you want, princess."
Niall and Kat agreed to come get pizza with us but the rest of them were going to a movie anyways so it was just us four.
"I love this place," Kat smiled as we walked into the warm little pizza diner. I couldn't argue.
This was our place. Ever since we were kids, this was our place. Sure, our group didn't always get along and sure, we were sort of forced into friendship by our mothers, but we were happy here. Through all the bullshit and fights, this was our place.
"Baby," Niall grinned at Kat. "What do you want to eat? I'm paying."
"You got it last time, let me," Harry insisted with a grin. "Come on."
"Not a chance," Niall laughed. "Not a chance in hell."
"Well good thing we're not in hell."
"Do you want to split a cheese pizza with me?" I asked Kat with a sigh. She nodded and I felt Harry's arm drape around my chair, which made Kat raise her eyebrows and Niall let out a low whistle.
