Chapter 18 Redux: Sharing

3rd Person POV:

Typing can be heard throughout Beacon Academy's library as Blake, who's on the verge of collapsing continues her search for more information regarding the White Fang.

Her stubborn search continues on until the sound of footsteps can be heard approaching. The cat faunus looks behind her as the culprit is revealed to be Y/N, who's seen in her pajamas with her hair being in its luminescent silver color. 

Blake: Y/N?

Y/N: I wanted to check up on you.

Blake: I'm fine.

Y/N takes a seat next to her as she turns on the computer next to Blake, who looks at her teammate in confusion.

Blake: Don't even try it.

Y/N: Hmm?

Blake: You're gonna try and convince me to head to bed.

Y/N: That's not it. (smiles at her) I know that anything I'd say wouldn't work so I just decided to work with you.

Blake: Why?

Y/N: Doing stuff alone must be really lonely, it'll probably feel much better if we both took on the burden together.

Blake: (blushing from her words) F-Fine.

The pair resume their research as Blake can't help but take small glances at Y/N, who simply has her eyes glued to screen as she continues to type on her keyboard.

An awkward silence forms between them as Blake suddenly starts to feel an overwhelming sense of drowsiness.

Blake: (tiredly as her starts slowly closing) Y-Y/N?

The cat faunus starts drifting off to sleep as Y/N pulls her into a warm embrace and strokes her hair.

Y/N: (voice becoming softer) It's okay, let yourself rest.

Blake: N-No, I...I have to...

Her protests fall silent as she succumbs to the immense drowsiness surging throughout her body. Y/N simply forms a small smile as she manages to carry her exhausted teammate back to their dorm room.

The silver-haired girl softly places  Blake on her bunk, which doesn't disturb the sleeping cat faunus at all as before Y/N could enter her sleeping bag she feels someone grab her hand.

Y/N: Huh?

She turns to see Ruby, who simply points up at her bed.

Y/N: (whispering) Y-You sure?

Ruby: (whispering back) Yeah, consider it as a reward for helping out Blake.

Both girls proceed to climb up to the bunk as they're left staring at each other's blushing faces. They're left in an awkward silence until Ruby makes the first move by patting her head, which results in Y/N blushing even harder.

It keeps on like this until the pair both eventually drift off to sleep with a smile shared between them.

The new day begins as Ruby, Yang, Weiss, and Y/N, are all seen setting up for the upcoming dance tomorrow night.
