Chapter 23 Redux: Risking It All

3rd Person POV:

Ruby, who's left completely and utterly restrained on a chair can only watch in horror as several White Fang members that were surrounding her start slowly closing in on her.

Before anything were to occur, a loud explosion can be heard closing in on them. Many more start to occur as the White Fang members brace themselves for a fight as suddenly Yang, Blake, Weiss, and Y/N, all come rushing in at them.

Yang: (hitting the members alongside her teammates) Don't you dare lay your hands on my sister!

With all her captors rendered unconscious, Ruby is free from her restraints by her teammates as before the reunion could be celebrated, the sound of footsteps approaching draws Team RWBYY's attention.

Roman: I thought I heard a ruckus. (emerging from the shadows alongside several more White Fang members) Would you mind not making such a mess of our fortress?

Y/N: Torchwick.

Roman: Yep, it's your favorite resident criminal sociopath.

Weiss: What are you planning to do?

Roman: It's not right for a mastermind to unveil all their secrets but considering that you're all not making it out of here alive, I'll be a buddy and explain. (gestures to the many trains on the tracks) As you can see here, all these trains are being filled to the brim with dust and robots galore.

Roman: From what you learned in those prestigious academies of yours, do tell me how destructive can dust be once overloaded?

Weiss: (comes to a sudden realization) You're not gonna-

Roman: Yes! Using the dust as my main source of firepower, I'll blow through the seals at the end of the tunnels that lead to the city. Once the seal is gone, my angry faunus friends and I are going to bring in complete and utter chaos, which will become a beacon for the creatures of Grimm that have been waiting oh so patiently for their chance to strike!

Blake: Y-You're absolutely insane!

Y/N: (to the White Fang Members) How could you all be supporting a crazy plan like this?! If the Grimm make it to the city both the innocent humans and faunus are going to die!

Roman: It's a worthy sacrifice. It was you humans that pushed the White Fang into doing this. You persecuted, deceived, and antagonized their race for centuries.

Roman: While sacrificing a few, those standing here with me today will bear that pain and continue their path into bringing hope to the many still suffering under the human's rule. And I solely wish to aid them in this endeavor.

Roman: Huntsmen are supposed to uphold the peace but do you actually see any of them making any attempts to aid in the Faunus plight? No, all you see are those that wish to gain glory and fame solely for their own self interest.

Roman: So, is there really such a difference between those claiming to side with justice and those siding with villainy? (forms a grin)

With his speech finished, all the members have various expressions from the question posed to them as suddenly rose petals can be seen heading towards Roman.

In a fit of anger, Ruby uses her semblance to dash forward at blinding speeds before proceeding to land a powerful punch on her enemy's smug grinning face.

Blake, Weiss, Yang, Y/N: Ruby!

Ruby: (landing back to her teammates) You're right, I can't explain the true difference between justice and villainy but...If we just let you all run free, you're just gonna go and harm more innocent people again, right?!
