Chapter 50: Apathy

Y/N POV:

After calming down Yue and I head back to the house to see the others resting.

Ruby: Anything new?

Y/N: Warnings and drawings of some monster.

Ruby: Monster?

Y/N: They call it the Apathy.

Ruby: Apathy?

Y/N: That's all the drawings showed me.

Ruby: Hmm.

Qrow: Storm's cleared up for now. We should be able to leave by morning.

Ruby: That's good.

Qrow: No... I don't have a good feeling about this place, especially with me around...

I see his hand hovering near a wine bottle on the floor.

Ruby: Are you... okay?

Qrow: (scoffs) Sure. Tell everyone to get some sleep. I'll wake you guys up just before sunrise.

Ruby heads back down as I feel more negativity and loss of life increasing now more than ever.

Qrow: Kid?

Y/N: Huh?

Qrow: You okay?

Y/N: Yeah, I'm sorry it's just this place getting to me.

Y/N: Sorry to worry you.

I walk downstairs to see the others.

Ruby: Hey guys. Qrow said we should get some sleep. We're gonna head out early tomorrow.

Blake: Thank goodness.

I sit back as the others get ready to sleep.

Maria: Hmph, the last thing you'll catch me doing is letting some kid tell me what to do. (in a mimicking voice) "Go to bed!" (scoffs)

As she sits on the armchair and turns the lamp on to read.

I sit on the couch and relax.

Ruby: Aren't you gonna sleep too?

Y/N: (nervous) Yeah just gotta check on some things.

She shrugs and goes to sleep.

Y/N: (That was close)

Miyuki: (We really gotta tell them the truth about us not being able to sleep)

Y/N: (I know it's just I don't want to freak them out any more than I've done before)

Koyuki: (I just wonder why we're unable to sleep)

Y/N: (Maybe it has to do with our Semblance evolving)
