"Promise to be the best version of yourself, never doubting yourself, your worth,"
"your life."
"WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO YOU!" Yoona screamed pushing through the front door. Before Raekyung had an opportunity to reacts the next thing she knew she was being held in a tight hug.
"I was so worried about you." the girl said sniffling hugging raekyung tight. "I'm okay, I'm okay." Raekyung reassured her. The small girl released her grip slowly.
"YOU SCARED ME!" she said slapping her arm "Oww what was that for?!"
"What do you think?" Yoona snapped back.
Yoona sat down onto the edge of the couch covering her face with her long hoodie sleeves leaving raekyung to stand alone. "You scared the crap out of me," She said looking back up to raekyung. "When Jimin told me what happened I about had a heart attack." the sitting girl admitted softly.
"I'm sorry." Raekyung whispered sitting down next to her. She wrapped her arm around yoona shoulder comforting the little girl in the soft pink oversized hoodie.
"You know, this isn't the time, however, " Yoona said rising headed for the kitchen to grab a drink, "When Jimin was telling me all of this, he had a look in his eyes. One I haven't seen before. He was genuinely worried about you. I could tell he was scared." She said now leaning against the counter snapping open the soda can.
Raekyung slowly rose off the couch scoffing at what she had just heard. "Me? Yeah right." She sneered heading to the kitchen to grab a drink as well.
"Oh come on!" Yoona nagged turning around to raekyung who was now scavenging around the fridge.
Raekyung looked to the ground frozen now engrossed in her thoughts. "Me? Ha, " she taunted herself, "It would never be me."
" You're too hard on yourself you know." Yoona said taking a sip of her coke.
"What?" Raekyung mumbled raising her head still standing with the fridge door open.
"You think about all the things you have, and you try to convince yourself you don't deserve it all."
"And how would you know that." She came back turning her head staring at Yoona.
"Don't lie to yourself Raekyung." Yoona signed.
"I've known you for a few years now and you're like an open book. You think that you don't deserve this love raekyung but you're just lying to yourself." Yoona said walked towards raekyung still standing at the fridge avoiding eye contact.
"Promise me something." She insisted.
Raekyung moved backward allowing the fridge to close on its own. She leaned against the counter facing Yoona.
"What?" Raekyung said bluntly maintained eye contact.
"I may not know everything that you've been through. But I've known for a while now, and I know when you put yourself down."
"Ha," she scoffed in her head, "three years doesn't count as a while." She thought.
"Promise me."
"Promise to be the best version of yourself, never doubting yourself, your worth,"
"your life."
"You may not be able to change what has happened to you, but you get to determine what does in the future. And I can't sit here and watch you lie to yourself every day. You don't deserve what you're doing to yourself. And I won't let you continue to do it."
