I sit here dumbfounded on what just happened and I reached for my wine and then I realized my glass was empty. I waved over the bartender Im just going to have one more glass to help to take the edge off of my nerves. I have no idea exactly why Im nervous. The bartender walked over a second later,
"what can I get you sweetheart?"
"another glass of white and what do I owe ya on my tab?"
"nothing"
"nothing?"
"your drinks are on Mr. McIntyre tonight"
"excuse me?"
By this point I was all out confused on what was going on. All the wine was fogging up my thought process. I watched the rest of the show and I felt a rush of nerves slam into me as his eyes met mine from the stage on his last song. It would be only a short time till I find out what he had wanted me to stay for. I watched as he took a bow as the woman screamed and cheered. I figured I would hang back and wait till the club started to clear not knowing what exactly would pop off if someone watched me go backstage with Joe's security. I didn't have to wait to long, I turned my back to the stage and took a long sip of my wine and I felt a hand on shoulder.
"I spun around to see Joe's security Victor standing there smile on his face,
"Aaliyah Im glad to see you decided to stick around"
"yeah but whats this all about?"
"Truthfully I don't know Im just doing what he asked"
"Im gonna be honest with you, I don't know how comfortable I am with this. I don't know him just know his name and I don't want to put myself in some kind of unsafe situation. Im a crime victims advocate at the police department so I see this kind of situation all the time."
"Well Im not sure why he asked you to come back, but I can tell you that Joe is a good guy and he would never hurt a woman and myself as well as my brother will be doing security backstage the entire time. We both have been heavily vetted by multiple agencies so your safety I can promise isn't a issue."
I stopped and studied Victor for a moment, I was trained on how to read a person and truthfully I trusted him.
"Aaliyah..."
"huh yeah sorry"
"you ok?"
"yeah..yeah sorry"
"ok anyways, you ready to head back, its clearing out back there so it wont be insane."
I took a deep breath and I felt my palms begin to sweat and the butterflies in my stomach go crazy.
"Yeah lets go."
Backstage cleared quickly and I poured down my second drink since coming off stage, I was feeling the effects a little bit but I wasn't drunk. Victor left to see if she waited after the show and he has been gone for a while and I hope that was a good sign. I have been in show business since I was 12 professionally and this is the first time I had someone come backstage. There was different emotions going through me at the moment and I really didn't know how to handle it. I made another drink and headed back into my dressing room, I changed out of what I had on on stage opting for jeans, a tee shirt and some sneakers. I racked my hands through my hair straightning it and tossed on some cologne. I took a sip of my drink when I head Victor's voice outside me door. I peaked from the crack in the door, there she was and she was more gorgeous up close I couldn't believe she stayed. A rush of nerves hit and I don't know why, I never had it happen and Ive been around thousands of woman. Honestly I never had anyone come back stage either though. I stepped back and poured the glass of whiskey down in a quickness and I felt the burn as it went down. I tossed the cup in the trash and as soon as I sat on the sofa there was a knock on the door and Victor appeared her trailing behind him, she looked nervous almost scared, I wonder for a second if it was even a good idea because I never been the type of guy to want to put any woman in a position she felt uncomfortable.
