You were cold to these people and held a stoic tone with them and yet they were constantly checking in on you, well...Izuku Midoriya was.

Every day for the past week he would knock on your door to which you would ignore and would then slide a piece of paper under the door.

The slip always ready "here is today's homework for you—-If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask me at the number below."

Well, it has only been two weeks total and you got a guys number and not in the way that was seen as rewarding due to the mere fact that he was attractive. It was simply because he wanted to start something platonic. But you could start that with him, so you did what you did to all the other pieces of papers-discarded it.

You were adept at avoiding closeness and only allowed Mirio to get close to you for reasons you couldn't let the school know but you feared that closeness is what was causing your wall against the outside world to break.

Soon the door opened revealing Mirio with a cast around his left arm and Izuku Midoriya right behind him looking a bit shy and timid.

You simply turned your head back towards the window ignoring their presence and focusing on the peaceful nature that was outside. It has only been three days and this place was worse than the orphanage.

"HA! Hey Y/N," Mirio said happily, smiling wider by the second.

You sighed from annoyance knowing if you even asked him to leave he would just ignore your plea. He moved towards your bed and sat at the edge as he turned his head in the direction you had turned your head in.

"You know young Midoriya was standing outside of your room for a whole hour contemplating on whether or not to enter," Mirio stated causing Izuku to shriek from shock of the revelation.

"W-Why did you tell her!" Izuku yelled while blushing red from the comment.

Something about the blush though...It was a kind of blushing that showed the soul, a sort of compliment to the eyes and the delicate sweetness within. It shows a connection, that the smile and shyness come from some deep emotion... and that's a beautiful thing, that's something real...something that need to be crushed.

"Because you were a full-blown panicking dude," Mirio replied, "Besides, Y/N would just get it out of you just by staring at you."

"If that was the case..." you thought

"B-but still," Izuku stammered.

"Listen," you began, "I appreciate you bringing in my homework for the past three days, but do not ever record anything about my quirk without my permission."

"U-um sure, sorry," he said a bit uneasy from your cold tone. But your cold tone would get the message more clear to him.

"Ha! Lighten up Y/N," Mirio said while placing a hand on your shoulder causing you to 'hn'ed' at his action. but that just got him to laugh even more, "He like all of us are just curious to know about you, to which I heard you gave a cold first impression."

"There is no need to introduce myself since Aizawa called me by name," you stated, "And I don't give a damn about any one of them and getting to know them since I am able to gather that intel."

"So," Mirio said optimistically, "You can learn a lot about a person just by talking to them."

"You're lucky I even talk to you," you replied back, "Now if your done lecturing me, can you leave?"

"Oh Y/N," Mirio laughed while dragging you down to lay down on the bed alongside him, "you know you can't hate me."

"Hn!" you answered getting him to crack up even more.

"Though your attack three days ago couldn't have shown it," Mirio said.

"Apologizes," you replied, "don't take it personally."

Not taking things personally is a lesson I learned from my upbringing and my life in this world. Still, the unavoidable nature of our human experience is that we will feel things, even when we don't want to. Even when we've committed ourselves to being cold and numb to the world, it involved great effort to not care what people think, and to not take what they say and do personally. Sometimes people seek to hurt us and sometimes even without intending it, they hurt us anyway. It is difficult not to characterize anything we disagree with, any perceivably negative word or unkind action as a personal attack on who we are. Not taking things personally is difficult.

"You know I won't," Mirio said with that cheesy grin plastered on his face, "However, I did hear from Aizawa that a famous photographer is stopping by the school to do a feature on your class."

"No..." you thought, "I cannot be documented by that journalist..."
