*Zach's POV*

I put my hand into the picnic basket trying to find the napkins but I couldn't help but feel that Valerie didn't want me to do so. She looks extremely worried or something.

I felt my hand on some kind of book? Weird. Last time I checked Valerie didn't carry books to picnics. No matter what it may be. Plus she has no more classes for today. I took out the book curious and my eyes laid on the magic spell book. I could feel myself start to boil with anger.

"What's this?"

"I actually threw that in there super last-minute in case it rained or-"

I flipped through the book and saw her recently most used spells. It's lie the book has a mind of its own. Whenever the someone uses a spell, the contents page would automatically be filled up on what spell was being used.

" 'Speed reading' spell. "Blonde hair" spell. 'Cooking' spell" I looked up from the book. "And I was giving you props for fitting in so well, for doing your best!" I said disappointed in Valerie.

"Take back this moment that has passed. Return it- reverse it-" Valerie stumbled with a spell.

"Are you trying to spell me right now?!" I screamed.

"Zach, it has been so hard for me!"

"Yes! Some things are hard! Do you think learning to be king has been easy for me?"

"No!"

"I thought we were doing this together!"

"Zach, we are in this together" She reached out for my arm but I moved it back.

"But we're not, Val. We're not. Y-you've been keeping secrets and lying to me. I thought we were done with that. This isn't the Isle of the Lost, Val"

"Yeah. Believe me, I know that!"

"Then why are you doing this?"

"Because... I'm not one of those pretty pink princesses, Zach. I'm not one of those ladies from the Court. I'm a big fake, okay? I'm fake. This is fake. This is fake. Take this feast, this sumptuous meal, return it back to what is real. This is who I really am" Valerie took the spell book from my hand and reversed the spell that she had cast, also known as the ''cooking spell' and with that, she left.

"Val!" I called.

"No"
