*Corbyn's POV*

Right now, we're waking along the hallway, slowly making our way to class and we are greeted by a bunch of girls that I have never seen before.

"Hi Jonah"

That's nice. They only acknowledged the presence of Jo.

"Hey! What's up?"

"Why do you torture them? Just pick someone to take to Cotillion already" I whisper-yelled.

"I'm going solo. That way, I can dance with all of them" He said while walking past them.

"Ah! You're the expert. Um, Jay... if you were gonna ask someone, what's the best way to go?"

"Listen, all you got to do... is look like me"

"Oh, ha-ha" I laughed sarcastically while mentally rolling my eyes.

"Val!" Christina came running towards us.

"Hey Christina" I started to get nervous.

"Hey"

I mean it's no secret that I like her. She is so pretty! Look at her!

"I was wondering...uh... if you liked the.... carrot cake last night" I asked politely, stumbling over my words.

"I had the pumpkin pie"

"Oh, cool. Um, uh-"

I got cut off by Jonah whispering, "Smooth" into my ear which made me slightly annoyed, to be honest.

The girls and by that I mean, Valerie, Emma, Tate and Christina started to create conversation.

"I have an opening for a fitting at 3:00. Who wants it?" Emma shouted at the other girls.

"Me!" Tate replied first.

"Perfect. I'll take you later"

*Valerie's POV*

"Val?" Christina tapped my shoulder.

"Yeah?"

"I hate to keep bugging you, but the decorating committee needs more answers. So, as much as I hate to, um... you know, um-"

"Bug me?"

"Right"

"Yeah, Christina, I would love to. I just have to get to class"

"You know, just nod if you like it"

"Okay"

As you know, I am annoyed, again. Man I get annoyed really easily don't I?

"Chair swags. Entry banner. Twinkle lights. Napkin design. Table bunting. And you still haven't picked the party favors yet" Christina swiped on her tablet, showing me the different decorations.

"Honestly, Jane, whatever you think-"

"I mean, we can do chains, key charms, pen toppers. I kind of love the pen toppers, but, I mean, we can do all three" Christina started to speak extremely fast to the point where I could barely make out what she was saying.

This is getting in my nerves right now! I need to stay calm! But I seriously need to get to class and I hate being late. Hate. It just bugs me so much. I couldn't help but feel my eyes going green, which is clearly not a good sign based on the fact that the previous time this happened I became a dragon!

Relax Valerie! She is just stressed about the Cotillion. It's not going to get better if I turn into a dragon and make her feel even more worse.

I could tell Christina had noticed the bright green eyes because she looked scared to death and stopped talking.

"I say pen toppers" I smiled.

"Yeah?" She flashed a smile.

"Yeah" I giggled.

"You won't regret it"

"Okay"

Christina keyed in something in her tablet, which I'm guessing is about what I just said. In the mean time, Tate and Emma walk up to me and they start off a conversation.

"I can hardly wait to see what your wedding will look like!" Tate exclaimed.

"Me, too. Wait! What?!" I shouted.

How did I not know about this?!

"The Royal Cotillion is like getting engaged to be engaged to be engaged" Christina looked up from her screen.

"I knew it!" Emma said.

"Well, everyone knows it"

"I didn't know it! How come nobody told me that? My entire life just planned out in front of me-" I hot cut off, AGAIN, by someone wrapping their arm around my waist. I didn't need to look to see who it was.

"Hi Val"

"Hey Zach"

"Oh, oh. Quick moment" Christina told Zach and pulled him into the corner. Okay, what the heck is going on between these 2?

After a few seconds, Zach looked back at me and hugged me, "So, uh I'll see you later?"

"Okay. Bye" and just like that I walked out still confused.

*Zach's POV*

Christina pulled me towards the corner of the hallway and I followed, knowing what it was about.

"All right, they're almost finished with the surprise for Val's big night. Snow White, Myta. But the one you designed for Val is my favourite" She said while swiping a few pictures on her tablet.

"Make sure her eyes are green" I said referring to Valerie's coloured glass picture. I asked Christina if she could help me arrange a stained glass for Valerie, as a surprise of course. Hopefully, this will be done by the Cotillion and Val loves it! I really hope she does.

"Which green should they use?"

I looked at the samples and chose the darkest green they had, matching Val's eyes.
