12. Hannah Baker

School the next day was fine for me, i hadn't drunk a lot the night before. I couldn't say the same for anyone else though, especially Montgomery. I was at my locker when he came up to me, dragging his feet almost. "Angie" He called "my head fucking hurts"
I snickered to myself, smirking. "Dont fucking laugh at me" He mumbled, clutching his head. "Sorry babe but thats your own damn fault, you had a LOT to drink last night. There were somethings that i had to cover your mouth for. I dont need the whole school knowing what you wanna do to me thanks" I giggled, embracing him. I weaved my hands under his varsity jacket and his flannel, pulling him as close as possible to me. "Can't we just skip and huggle all day?" He asked quietly, kissing the top of my head. "Oh i wish" I replied, sighing and looking up at him. "But if it makes you feel better i have aspirin in my bag if you want it?".

Monty took the small pill and chugged some water down with it. "Hey i have to go to practice early but ill see you after school" He said, holding my face and squeezing my cheeks into a kiss. I laughed and waved him away, smiling. "Hey, Angie right?" I heard from beside me. I turned to see the same girl from last night. "Hey yeah, Hannah Baker? I'd recognise a pretty face like that anywhere" I greeted. She scoffed softly, pulling her back onto her shoudler. "Yeah right. You're the pretty one here" she stated. I shook my head and we walked down the corridor together. "What do you like to do for fun then?" I wondered, tilting my head slightly. "I dont know, i dont really have friends" She responded, quietly. "Hey thats cool, im your friend now and were going to have lots of fun. Like for example going to the mall this Afternoon?" i pushed her shoulder with mine lightly, gaining a small laugh from her. "Sounds good, but dont you have better things to do?" She questioned, earning a confused look from myself.
"Not really and if i did, it can wait."

I got to my lesson and sat down, the same familiar faces smiling at me. The only seat left was next to Tyler Down, my ex bestfriend. We used to be close but we drifted. I sat down and smiled his way, earning a smile back. "hey" I greeted, getting my books from my bag. "Hi" He replied, shyly.
"So how've you been then?" I asked, wanting to catch up with him. "Fine, what about you?" He answered, looking down at his book. "I've been, good. Great actually" I had Monty on my mind as i said this. "I've seen you and Monty..." Tyler said, looking me in the eyes. "Yeah hes been really good to me" I told him, getting no reply.

The aftertoon krept up on me faster then expected. I met Hannah outside of school and we decided to walk to the mall as it wasnt too far away. "So, if you dont mind me asking, why Monty?" Hannah questioned, earning a confused look from myself. "Well most of the jocks are assholes but you decided to go for the worst one" she laughed. I laughed too and thought about it. "He's different with me, hes better. Well hes always a smug little asshole but hes funny and he gets me. He understands what its like to have a family that basically gives no fucks about their child" I explained, not trying to give too much away. She nodded and sighed. "You're aware he's like the school bully right?" She said, stopping to look at me. "Yeah but he's sweet and he cares about me. I dont like his whole big bad bully act at school trust me, but im willing to help him change" I stated, happy with my response. She shrugged.

We got to the mall, me opening the door for hannah. We spotted a newly opend clothing store and decided to check in there. Im glas we did as everything looked amazing. I rushed to a grey crop jumper near the corner, it was as if it was calling for me. Mine and Hannahs bags were full and we made our way to the changing rooms. I gently put on a tight white crop top wich had spaghetti straps, black ripped jeans and a small pink leather jacket. I came out and rushed to the mirror, taking picture after picture of myself. Hannah came out too, wearing a really nice jumper and jeans. She looked really pretty. We took loads of photos together, laughing in most of them. Inpayed for my outfit, a long with hannah's as a treat. She had to get home early so we had a quick hug and said our goodbyes. I heard my phone ring from inside my pocket and answered it, not caring who it was. "Hello?" I greeted.
"Hey baby, you busy?" It was Monty. "No I've just been clothes shopping, why?" I added.
"Can you meet me in the park please? I really need a hug" He spoke softly, making me just want to reach through the phone and snuggle him. "Of course, I'll be there in ten okay?" I said, ending the call and making my way to him. The park wasnt too far away so i was able to get there quickly.
