The world is cruel

It was a warm Tuesday afternoon and it had been 20 minutes since school had finished. Emma was hanging out with Marinette and Alya. Kleo was sat in the nail salon. Lee was in fencing practice.

Jonas and Adrien were sat in the park.
"So... you feel awkward with Marinette right? Because you can't have a future with the person you see as just a friend," chuckled Jonas.

"I never said that. I mean, Marinette is cute and kind, but I never thought of her in that way. And isn't trying to convince me out of it cheating?" cried Adrien.
"Maybe. Probably not. Anyway, see all the good sides to Lila," said Jonas, shrugging. "She's smart, will do anything to be with you and is good friends with your father, meaning he will approve."

"He doesn't get to decide who I fall for and neither do you," growled Adrien as he stood up and walked away.
"Hmph."

Emma, Marinette and Alya were close by and heard all the commotion.
"I wonder what the exchange student did to annoy Adrien," said Alya with a smirk.
"Excuse me," said Emma, as she walked away from the two.

She sat down next to Jonas.
"That's cheating. That is very much cheating," said Emma in a hush voice.
"Yep. That's why I am doin it," chuckled Jonas.
"You know what happens when you cheat. The timelines will do anything. Whoever cheats will be eliminated," explained Emma, quietly so only he could hear.

"What?" gasped Jonas. "No one told me that!"
"Everyone was warned," said Emma.
"N-no! I... I don't wanna die," cried Jonas, falling to the floor.

Emma saw Jonas' fingers turning to dust. The world could be cruel. She felt bad for him as she watched him burst into tears.

"ALRIGHT FINE! I GIVE IN!" yelled Emma as she grabbed hold of his hand, that wasn't currently being dusted.
"W-What are you doing?" spluttered Jonas.

"Taking your place," sighed Emma as she held on tight. Jonas' fingers re-emerged and Emma was immediately dusted.

Marinette ran over to Jonas.
"Where did my daughter go?" asked Marinette. Jonas looked up.
"She... she gave up h-her claim on the t-t-t-timeline to save m-me. You taught her well Marinette," stammered Jonas, wiping away the tears.

"Me and Adrien don't have a future together?" gasped Marinette.
"No! If I have learnt anything from Emma, it's to always be kind. She saved me! So I'm gonna save her! Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I am going to help you have a future with Adrien!" protested Jonas.

"You really are a good kid," said Marinette with a smile.

Mwahahaha! I can be so evil!!!! Aha hahahahaha
