Marinette looked out of her bedroom window, fighting a battle to make sure her emotions kept her from harms way of the powerful Hawkmoth.

Her heart was torn into two. She just watched her possible future daughter turn to dust in front of her eyes to be kind to someone who was the son of a liar.

She just sat there. Day in day out.

No one could convince her to come down from her bed. Not even Alya.

Kleo was failing to get her dad to fall in love with her mum. Jonas changed his attitude to try and bring Emma back. Lee was succeeding with his future as Kagami managed to kiss Adrien on the cheek.

It was a cold Tuesday afternoon and everyone was on Christmas break. Marinette stayed on her bed.

Tom came upstairs to find Kleo painting her nails and Jonas and Lee meditating together. And of course his teenage daughter on her bed.

"Marinette, honey? We don't know what's wrong but maybe you'd like to help out at the bakery?" asked Tom, using his loving father voice and hoping it would cheer her up.

There was no reply so Jonas opened his eyes and offered.
"Do you know how to bake?" asked Tom.
"Yes. My father taught me. He wasn't good but his best friend taught him. She was an amazing chef!" exclaimed Jonas, remembering the wonderful times as a kid.
"Sure why not then?"

Jonas and Tom left.
"Hey Marinette," said Tikki. She didn't dare look around to see that Plagg and Tikki were there.
"Marinette, you need to interact. You can't stay up here for the whole Christmas break," sighed Plagg.

Each time the kwamis said something, Marinette did not reply.

CRASH!

Marinette made no sudden movement or showed any sign to transform.
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng! I know you watched your possible future daughter die in front of your very own eyes, but that's Jonas' problem to worry about now! You need to live in the now! And, there is an akuma outside and your the only one who can purify the akuma so I am telling you to get up from this bed and go fight evil!" shrieked Tikki.

Marinette blinked, turned her head to face Tikki and let a tear fall. Nevertheless, she got down from her bed.
"Spots on!" she whispered.

She jumped out of the window and landed on top of the magnificent Eiffel Tower. Her partner was already there.
"Hey bugaboo," he said with a smile.
"I... told you not to call me that," sighed Ladybug.
"What can I say? Old habits die hard!" chuckled Chat Noir. His eyes widened. "What?" asked Ladybug.
"I finally get that saying," he said with a smile.

She rolled her eyes.
"Are you alright?" asked Chat Noir.
"I just got told off by my kwami. Won't tell you why but let's just say I fell into depression," sighed Ladybug.
"You can always talk to me. What happened?" he cried.
"I... I watched my... no I can't tell you," said Ladybug, finally gaining the courage to speak in her normal voice. "Now let's go kick akuma butt!"

She threw her yo-yo away and went towards the commotion.
"That's the bugaboo I know," he said with a smile before following after her.
