3) Love At First Punch

Las Vegas, Nevada/ Aria Resort

3rd Person P.O.V- Nick was absolutely dreading this lockdown as it is literally in the city where the GA resides, not only bringing him and his team to the brink of discovery but also his daughter.

Nick- Pacing back and forth as I bite at my nails nervously. "What was I thinking? I never should have agreed to do this, we are too close to the GA and I'm putting us all at risk!"

Rob- Our ever fearless leader is reduced to a bundle of nerves as he paces the length of our shared room. (Sighs) "We'll be fine, we always are."

Nick- I barely hear a word he says. "Where is Briar?" Turning suddenly, I glance around with wide eyes.

Katrina- Glancing up from my laptop and pausing in my research that I'm studying for our location. (Sighs) "We've been over this an hour ago when you asked the first twenty times, she went to the gym."

Nick- Sitting at the edge of the nearest bed as I rub at my face. (Groans) "Zak is going to kill me, I promised to keep her safe and away from all of this until she was truly ready."

Rob- Kat and I share rather bemused looks. (Chuckles)

Katrina- (Smiles) "Briar isn't a baby anymore Nick and she's exceptionally smart just like her daddies. She's more than ready to face this life."

Nick- Shoving my face into a pillow. (Groans Loudly) Hearing them laugh, I make sure to flip them off for added measure.

Rob and Katrina- Seeing his childlike reaction made us lose it. (Laughs)

Back Street Kings Gym

Dakota- I took up a bit of kickboxing to get into shape as Zak outshined me in muscles and was able to take me in a simple backyard brawl. (Raises Eyebrow) A petite form in the ring caught my immediate attention. (Mutters Softly) "Who is she?"

AJ- Walking up beside the star struck lad as I lean against the edge of the ring beside him. "You're out of your league, you'll get your lights knocked out if you get into that ring."

Dakota- Turning my attention to the owner who has been privately training me. "Who is she? I haven't seen her around here before..."

AJ- (Hums) "She's just a passerby, she'll be gone in a couple days." Giving him a hard look. "Don't get attached."

Dakota- Dropping my bag at my feet. "I want in the ring, right now, with her."

AJ- (Shakes Head) "You aren't ready."

Dakota- Giving him a pleading look. "And I'm not gonna be, if you don't give me a challenge. How bad can it be? She's a girl." It got so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Briar- My current opponent backs off and I slowly stalk my way to the rings edge as I kneel down to the stupid boys level. (Smirks) "I accept your challenge."

Dakota- My eyes widen as I lock eyes with the blue/brown eyed girl. "You have two colored eyes?"

Briar- (Smiles) "One color belongs to my dad and the other to my mom, lucky me I'm special!" Taking a drink of water, I turn away from the pretty boy. "Let's go!"

Dakota- Her other opponent steps out of the ring and hands me the gear as I slip it on. (Nods) "Let's do this."

AJ- I watch the boy climb into the ring and get into his stance across from the girl. (Mutters) "Stupid boy."

Twenty Minutes Later

Briar- It was a very short dance, he made his first and only move throwing a punch that I side stepped as I throw a punch and knock him flying to the ground. (Smirks Smugly)

Dakota- Laying sprawled out on the ground, I dazedly look up at the girl. (Mumbles Stupidly) "I think, I love you..."

Briar- All I could do was stare at the dazed boy. "Love?" The boy was cute and really easy on the eyes. "I've um, got to go." Pulling off my gear, I climb out of the ring and grab my bag, before rushing out the door.

AJ- Once the girl leaves, I climb into the ring and kneel over my protege. "I did warn you." I gently pull the gear off the dazed boy.

Dakota- Shaking my head to clear the chirping birds. "I love her, she is an angel from Heaven."

AJay- (Chuckles) "Oh she's something, but an angel she's most definitely not!"

Dakota- (Smiles Dazedly) "My angel."

AJ- (Shakes Head Fondly)

Las Vegas, Nevada/ Aria Resort

Nick- The hotel door is suddenly thrown open, startling all of us. "Briar?" She drops her gym gear and slides to the floor. "Baby, what happened?" Getting up from where I'm perched, I cross the room quickly and kneel down in front of her.

Briar- Rubbing at my stinging eyes as I tilt my head back against the door. "I'm in love."

Nick- (Smiles Brightly) "Oh, hunny that's great. Where and who?"

Briar- (Smiles Dazedly) "The gym and Dakota."

Rob and Katrina- There is only one Dakota that we all know. "Dakota Laden?"

Briar- (Smiles Dazedly) "He's just so cute and easy on the eyes. I think he also underhandedly complemented me on mine."

Nick- My eyes widen to near saucers as I realize who it is she fell for. "You didn't rattle his brain too badly did you?"

Briar- (Winces) "I don't think so."

Nick- Sitting across from her, I open my arms to her. "Come here Princess."

Briar- Crawling into my moms arms as I lay my head against his collarbone. "Daddy isn't gonna be happy is he?"

Nick- (Hums) Nuzzling into her hair as I hold her close. "He'll get over it, you can't help who you fall head over heels in love with."
