3rd Person P.O.V- Nick was looking for an outlet that wasn't self destructive and was something other than he normally did. He needed something that he could just sit down and relax while doing. Something that would help him find the closer he truly needs and so that is how the Dear Zak letters had started.
'Dear Zak,
Today is Janurary 5th 2018
I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing or how to start this whole process. I was told that this was one of the best ways to find closer and I should have tried it after losing you but I wasn't ready, nope not at all. I'm still not ready to let you go. I've never hated being a paranormal investigator, until I lost you. I swear there are times you are still here.
I know I'm not being very open or as open as I once was, but we'll be that way again...I promise.

Two weeks pass and Nick finds himself sitting at his desk staring at the letter, he had just written.
'Dear Zak,
It's January 20th 2018
Today was one of my better days, but just beneath the surface the depression threatens to drown me. Don't worry I'm not about to join you just yet, though there are days I'm tempted too. Quite frankly our Demons won't allow it and our daughter may frown upon it. You'd be proud of me, I've finally gone to see a therapist. I don't like her, but I do it to ease our brothers and sisters mind. I miss you terribly and wish you were still here.

A couple months pass and once more Nick has found himself penning a letter, needing to get out his emotions to someone.

A shorter period of time passes and another letter is written.

You won't believe it, not only is it Briar and Dakota's Anniversary of them dating, but he PROPOSED! I'm so excited, are you excited? OUR BABY IS GETTING MARRIED!!!

Nick slips and a whole year passes before he sits down and pens another letter, once again only important details and nothing personal.

It's March 26th 2019
Today is the day we reunited as family, and the day Briar an Dakota chose to officially tie the knot. We all wish you could have been here, but we know you are watching over us. I also know you're proud of the young woman, your daughter has turned into and that we both chose to continue the work you have started.

Three months pass in a haze for Nick when he suddenly gets great news from his daughter, that he just has to share with his husband.

I just got a call from our daughter and got the most amazing news. She's gonna be a mom and we are gonna be GRANDPARENTS!!!
